Problems using external BLAS
I have problems building R 2.11.1 with an external BLAS. I've tried
several with several libraries:
# ACML:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/site/VERSIONS/acml-3.6.0/gfortran64_int64/lib
BLAS=--with-blas="-L/site/VERSIONS/acml-3.6.0/gfortran64_int64/lib -lacml"
LAPACK=--with-lapack
# MKL 11:

problem building R packages on RHEL 4 Linux with Intel compilers
I would like to build R and packages with the Intel 10.1 compilers in RHEL4.
Using the flags below, I can successfully build R using a vanilla
./configure, but when I install new packages they build with gcc. My
sysadmin suggested adding the flags to ./configure as illustrated below, but
then the R build blows up with the config tail output that follows far
below. It looks like gcc is still being

Building with MKL on Ubuntu
Hi all,
I'm trying to build R from subversion with MKL 10.0.2 on Ubuntu. I tried:

-lguide' --with-lapack='/opt/intel/mkl/10.0.2.018/lib/em64t -lmkl

and got:

Building R-alpha with ATLAS libraries?
I'm trying to build R-alpha using the ATLAS libraries as described in
the R-admin manual, section A.3.1.1 (BLAS) and A.3.2 (LAPACK). I built
ATLAS with LAPACK as described in the ATLAS documentation, and the
ATLAS version is the latest, 3.9.10. The platform is openSUSE 11.1
x86_64 with GCC 4.3.2.
"configure" is finding the ATLAS BLAS all right, but it is not finding

BLAS or ATLAS?
I believe that actually means configure was able to use the BLAS you
specified (MKL in this case). You can scan through config.log to make sure.

Trouble compiling R with self-compiled LAPACK/ATLAS under Linux
Hello,
I just had a lot of trouble compiling a version of R which uses a
recently-compiled version of ATLAS and LAPACK. ATLAS and LAPACK compiled
correctly and installed fine and passed all of their checks (and yes, I did
compile them all with -fPIC as is required for R). This was my initial
configure line:
./configure --with-x --enable-threads=posix
--with-blas="-L/usr/local/lib

Problem building R with Intel MKL v10 BLAS
NO
Hi. I'm not sure if this is an R-help or R-devel problem, so I'm
starting here in the hope that someone can help (and willing to go to
the other list if it's more appropriate). I think I am following all of
the instructions in the various manuals, but clearly I am missing something.
I have an Intel EM64T Dell with 2 dual-core Xeon processors running Red
Hat EL5. I would

Intel MKL compiling issue
> I would appreciate any insights over compiling R 3.4 with Intel MKL -- I have been successful until R 3.3.3 but now it stops complaining about pcre though it worked without Intel MKL as follows,
I successfully built R-rc_2017-04-19_r72555.tar.gz with icc & MKL on centos 7 with this:

R-2.1.0 compilation with Intel icc and ifort
Guys,
I'm using a Linux PC (Pentium IV, Mandrake 10.1) and I've just tried to
compile the new R-2.1.0 release with both gcc/g77 (3.4.1) and icc/ifort
(8.1).
Of course everything went fine with the GNU compilers.
After checking the archives of the mailing list I tried compiling with
the Intel compilers using the following options:
CFLAGS = '-O2 -mp -prec_div'
CXXFLAGS =

MKL Patch
And here's a patch for Intel Math Kernel Library. This allows commercial
users of Speex to use a high-speed FFT library that isn't GPL'd. (You do
need to pay for it though). This is 3 times faster than the default FFT
in speex, and also faster than FFTW3 since MKL has native support for
the complex packing Speex uses.
Since Intel hasn't supplied any pkg-config files, and which

Buidling R on Linux (Itanium) fails (PR#7897)
Full_Name: Reinhold Bader
Version: 2.1.0
OS: SLES 9
Submission from: (NULL) (129.187.48.1)
I tried to build R using the Intel compilers (icc, ifort) and the Math Kernel
Libraries
for BLAS/LAPACK
Optimizations used were -O3, and the
FPICFLAGS="-fpic"
was exported.
The build failed with the following error message:

External signal in ODE written in C (using deSolve and approx1?)
Dear list
The deSolve package allows you to specify the model code in C or Fortran.
Thanks to the excellent vignette this works fine. However I have not yet
managed to use forcing functions in C code.
In pure R code this works very well with approxfun() specified outside the
model:

#Model
lvml <- function(t, x, parms) {

configure can't find dgemm in MKL10
Hi,
I'm trying to follow the R-admin instructions for using MKL10 as the external BLAS compiling R-2.6.2 under Linux on a RH EL head node of a cluster. The configure process seems to have problems when it checks for dgemm in the BLAS. I'm using configure as:
./configure CC=icc F77=ifort --with-lapack="$MKL" --with-blas="$MKL" where $MKL is defined as in R-admin

I installed lme4 from the Ubuntu respository. When I executed the library(lme4)

I then uninstalled lme4 and tried again from cran. When the program tried to
compile, there was a message that -llapack could not be found, so the package
failed to install.

Hi there,
I'm trying to install the package RcppArmadillo in my R 2.11.1 which I installed
and regularly update via Ubuntu's repositories.
When I try to install RcppArmadillo from CRAN I get:
