example() leaves console prompting to press Enter for new graphs
Env: Win XP, R 2.9.2] It's a minor annoyance, but I find that after I run example(), the console state of prompting to press Enter for each new graph remains as it is under example. It's more annoying that it seems difficult to turn this behavior off! In a fresh session: > getOption("example.ask") [1] "default" Run an example: > example(plot) plot>

par(ask=TRUE) and devAskNewPage(ask=TRUE) not working
Hi, First, I do some calculation, then a plot. Add some lines and texts to the plot. Second, do some further calculation, then a plot. Add again some lines and texts to the plot. Third, do some further calculation, then.... Fourth, ..... After a plot is complete (means the plot itself, lines and texts) I would like to click 'enter' to see the next complete plot (again the plot itself,

"ask=F" option with plot.gam
Hello. I'd like to plot only one component smooth function of a gam model (for example the second) (library mgcv). So, I did : plot(my.gam, select=2, ask=F) But plot.gam doesn't seem to understand the "ask" option, so I can't deactivate the interactive plotting. I tried and failed by forcing it through : par(ask=F) And the "page" option of plot.gam (automatic

AMI potential memory leak
We are communicating with Asterisk via AMI. Running Asterisk version 13.18.5 on an Ubuntu box. If you look at the event response, the Result field is filled with random characters. I'm not sure what to do because that is a completely random result. It makes no sense. We send the following command to asterisk via AMI Action: AGI ActionID: C44415 Channel: SIP/192.168.40.105-00001338

Full_Name: Scot McNary Version: 1.7 OS: Windows 98se Submission from: (NULL) (134.192.131.246) Hi, Rgui causes a page fault when asking for lattice graphics after setting par(ask=TRUE). AMI potential memory leak
HI Matt, I am trying to replicate this particular problem. We are seeing more frequently where the Event: AsyncAGIExec is never being sent. The two scenarios I have seen in tests yesterday and today... We sendl an AMI action. For example, play a short file or hangup. AMI Events will indicate it did the work, but we never receive the Event: AsyncAGIExec with a result at all. Asterisk debug

Small quirks in summary.(g)lm docs
Hi! In R 3.0.0 from current SVN, ?summary.lm says: > Value [...] > df degrees of freedom, a 3-vector (p, n-p, p*), the last > being the number of non-aliased coefficients. ?summary.glm says: > df a 3-vector of the rank of the model and the number of residual > degrees of freedom, plus number of non-aliased coefficients. It seems to me that the description is reversed: p is

lm: mark sample used in estimation
Hi all, I wanted to mark the estimation sample: mark what rows (observations) are deleted by lm due to missingness. For eg, from the original example in help, I have changed one of the values in trt to be NA (missing). # code below # ---- # original example > ctl <- c(4.17,5.58,5.18,6.11,4.50,4.61,5.17,4.53,5.33,5.14) > trt <- c(4.81,4.17,4.41,3.59,5.87,3.83,6.03,4.89,4.32,4.69) #

par(ask=TRUE) in R CMD check?
Hello: What happens in the auto-checks on R-Forge and CRAN with code using par(ask=TRUE)? Is this routine, or can it create problems? The fda package uses ask=TRUE to provide the user with a way to examine a group of plots. In the past, I've marked those tests in \examples with \dontrun. However, I wonder if that is necessary. I tried it on Windows using R

OT: what are all these probes from my firewall log????
I'm getting a gazillion of these probes in my firewall logs. I don't understand what's going on here,... These all look like bootp requests from 10.21.72.1, to 255.255.255.255. there's certainly no 10.x.x.x here on this network, and I don't get the destination address... is it possible to send packets out onto the internet addressed like that? whois doesn't turn up

SIS: dovecot creates duplicated attachments (sometimes)
SIS deduplication was broken in 2.2.16 and has been fixed with https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/3b39022ea0513363241cf852b7d454c841584ea1 but still sometimes (just several times in a month or so) dovecot creates duplicated attachments. As you can see in directory listings below all attachments was created at (about) the same time, but one of them has different inode number. It easy to

"is.qr" definition (PR#465)
Might it be possible to tighten the definition of "is.qr". I noticed that after I mistakenly typed example(lm) # make lm object named lm.D9 qr.Q(lm.D9) which exhausted the heap memory and produced two warning messages. As an object of class "lm" has a "qr" component, "is.qr" failed to detect that "lm.D9" was not a "qr" object. The

nested for loops
Dear Admin, I will appreciate if you advise me an effective way to write the following R code including nested for loops. I cannot do it by using expand.grid function because it results with memory allocation problems. Thanks for your time and consideration. for(d1 in 0:n){ for(d2 in 0:n){ for(d3 in 0:n){ for(d4 in 0:n){ for(d5 in 0:n){ for(d6 in 0:n){ for(d7 in 0:n){ for(d8 in 0:n){ for(d9 in
