segfault / crash when asking for large memory via strrep()
We've had this more general topic on R-help, and also in R-devel recently. There's one case here where I get the feeling R never gets into swapping but more directly aborts possibly from a bug we can more easily fix. Today I've been working (successfully! - not yet committed) at fixing str() for very large strings. In this process, I've found that pc <- function(.)

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] More caching of initial setup
When I added .can_FOO caching in 1.16, I missed the case that the sh plugin itself was calling .can_flush twice in some situations (in order to default .can_fua). Then right after, I regressed it to call .can_zero twice (in order to default .can_fast_zero). I also missed that .thread_model could use better caching, because at the time, I did not add testsuite coverage. Fix that now. Eric Blake

[PATCH nbdkit v2 0/4] tests: Test export flags (eflags).
v1 was here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-December/thread.html#00123 v2: - Document "-" instead of "script=-" and use it in the test; and verify this also works on FreeBSD; and verify that it doesn't depend on the particular behaviour of our wrapper script and should work with installed nbdkit too. - Fix handling of zero flags parameter. -

[PATCH nbdkit 0/3] tests: Test export flags (eflags).
Some feature additions to the shell script plugin allow us to test the export flags field reasonably easily. Rich.

problems installing package XML to a computer without an internet connection
Hello, I am hoping for some advice regarding how I can install the XML package which I require to run package tm. Normally I would use the install package option, however, I have to install the packages to a laptop running XP. The laptop does not have an internet connection. Firstly I tried the file - XML_1.99-0.tar.gz . Below is the error I received Error in gzfile(file, "r") :

openssh (OpenBSD) , bsdauth and tis authsrv
nuqneH, I've tried using TIS authsrv authentication via bsd auth and found it quite limited. The most important restriction it does not log ip and fqdn of the remote peer, nor the application name, to the authentication server. It does not matter much for TIS authsrv, but since other applications do provide such information, our authsrv version uses it for extra authentication restrictions.

[PATCH] btrfs: use kmalloc for lzo de/compress buffer
The size of de/compress buffer and LZO1X_MEM_COMPRESS is small enough. Allocating it with kmalloc rather than vmalloc is preferred. This patch depends on my previous patch, “btrfs: fix decompress buffer size”. segfault / crash when asking for large memory via strrep()
That would be because the product nc * ni overflows in cbuf = buf = CallocCharBuf(nc * ni); Since we disallow strings with more than 2^31-1 bytes we could test and reject this. It might be more future-proof to change the declaration of int j, ni, nc; to R_xlen_t j, ni, nc; and let the character allocation code reject, but that would create a memory leak since the Free call

[LLVMdev] generate a weird 'and' instruction
When I use the next code to print all the opcode name in a file xx.o whose source file contains statements "if (diff != 0) klee_assume(diff>0)", then an opcode name 'and' was printed. Where is the 'and' instruction from? I checked the file xx.ll of xx.o and I didn't find a 'and' instruction of these two statements. Besides, when I commented out statement

translateChar in NewName in bind.c
I see another thing in function 'NewName' in bind.c. In else if (*CHAR(tag)) , 'ans' is basically copied from 'tag'. Could the whole thing there be just the following? ans = tag; It seems to me that it can also replace ans = R_BlankString; in 'else'; so, else if (*CHAR(tag)) and else can be merged to be just else . --------------------------------------------

[Bridge] Problem with Routed mode using br2684ctl tool
Hi, I am writing this email in sincere hope that somebody experienced similar/same problem and found solution to it. The classical bridge setup could be achieved using brctl tool, which could be found at: http://home.regit.org/br2684.html I have an ADSL CO line card Linux based [2.4.24 kernel] with 8 nas interfaces and eth0. Rather than having bridge, the decision was to have a router, which

[RFB] add LZ4 compression method to btrfs
Hi, so here it is, LZ4 compression method inside btrfs. The patchset is based on top of current Chris'' for-linus + Andi''s snappy implementation + the fixes from Li Zefan. Passes xfstests and stresstests. I haven''t measured performance on wide range of hardware or workloads, rather wanted to publish the patches before I get distracted again. I''d like to ask

sshd config parser
Hi All. For various reasons, we're currently looking at extending (or even overhauling) the config parser used for sshd_config. Right now the syntax I'm looking at is a cumulative "Match" keyword that matches when all of the specified criteria are met. This would be similar the the Host directive used in ssh_config, although it's still limiting (eg you can't easily

[PATCH] nv50, nvc0: don't crash on a null cbuf
This is needed since commit 9baa45f78b (st/mesa: bind NULL colorbuffers as specified by glDrawBuffers). Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- Not sure whether something needs to be done to clear out the old RT_* settings for that index buffer, or if things are cleared out implicitly.
