lme4 install trouble
After upgrading to R 2.6.0, I'm having trouble running lmer: model <- lmer(primed ~ log(dist.time)*role + 1|target.utt, data=data.utts) Error in UseMethod("as.logical") : no applicable method for "as.logical" So I thought I'd upgrade lme4 to the latest version, but unfortunately the compilation fails - perhaps there's a missing #include: R CMD INSTALL

glmmPQL / "system is computationally singular"
Hi, I'm having trouble with glmmPQL from the MASS package. I'm trying to fit a model with a binary response variable, two fixed and two random variables (nested), with a sample of about 200,000 data points. Unfortunately, I'm getting an error message that is difficult to understand without knowing the internals of the glmmPQL function. > model <- glmmPQL(primed ~

Convert factor to "double"?
Hi! I'm reading a tab-seperated CVS file with: test1 <- read.table("data.txt", header=TRUE) It's in the following format: Date_Time qK qL vL vP ... 0 30 22 110 88 ... ... (BTW: It seems to me R shifts the column descriptions by one.) Anyway, I would like to Fourier-transform one column. So I say: > fft(test1$vP) Error in levels(x)[x] : invalid subscript type

Condor and R
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has successfully linked R against the Condor libraries so that R can be run as a Condor job in the "standard" (not "vanilla") universe. The advantage of this would be that due to checkpointing, jobs can be suspended and transferred to another node. There is a good overview by Xianhong Xie here:

Installer package destroys permission settings on /Applcations (PR#7025)
Full_Name: david Reitter Version: 1.9.1 OS: Mac OS X 10.3 Submission from: (NULL) (18.85.44.174) The installer package seems to change the permissions on the /Applications folder (and probably on other folders as well), which means that a normal user (that does not happen to have user id 501) cannot open the Applications folder anymore. Both group and user are changed to id '501' (which

Text in Boxes?
It's probably a beginner's question: How do I show text in boxes? That is, can I specify a background color for text output with text() ? The following doesn't work as I would expect: text(labels="123", 50, 0.5, bg="green") I've experimented with legend(),which will make the box too wide, and also with rect(), which doesn't know the extent of the text

how to apply a self-written function to a data frame
Hello, I have written a function in order to analyse gaze paths. It works with the test data but when I try to apply the function to a data frame that stores "the real data" in columns I receive the error message that the " In if (pp > 1) { : condition has length > 1 only the first element will be used " I interpret this error message as saying that only the first

Patch for legend.position={left,top,bottom} in ggplot2
Hi Hadley and everyone, here's a patch for ggplot2 that fixes the behavior of opts(legend.position={left,top,bottom}). If you try the following code in an unmodified ggplot2 options(warn = -1) suppressPackageStartupMessages(library("ggplot2")) data <- data.frame( x = c(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), y = c(2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 5), colour = c(TRUE, TRUE, TRUE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE))

controlling panel.width and panel.height in viewports
Dear all, I'm trying to get a series of lattice levelplots to appear in viewports in a particular way but struggling to exert fine control over their appearence. There are two conditions: (a) I only want the levelplot to appear (I don't want axes, colour key, etc) in the viewport and (b) I want the levelplot to expand to the maximum allowable space in the viewport while observing

[PATCH 1/3] nv50: rework primid logic
Functionally identical but much simpler. Should also better integrate with future layer/viewport changes/fixes. Cc: 10.1 <mesa-stable at lists.freedesktop.org> Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- Not *strictly* necessary in stable, but it will make backporting later fixes easier. LV: predication
Hi Simon, Thanks for reposting the example, and looking at it more carefully, I think it is very similar to my first proposal. This was met with some resistance here because it dumps loop information in the vector preheader. Doing it this early, we want to emit this in the vectoriser, puts a restriction on (future) optimisations that transform vector loops to honour/update/support this intrinsic

Invitation accepted, I am happy to help out with reviews, like I did with the previous VP patches. And of course agreed that things should be well defined, and that we shouldn't paint ourselves in a corner, but I don't think that this is the case. And it's not that I am in a rush, but I don't think this change needs to be predicated on a big change landing first like the LV

[PATCH] nv50: avoid using inline vertex data submit when gl_VertexID is used

Hi, I abandoned that approach and followed Eli's suggestion, see somewhere earlier in this thread, and emit an intrinsic that represents/calculates the active mask. I've just uploaded a new revision for D79100 that implements this. Cheers. ________________________________ From: Simon Moll <Simon.Moll at EMEA.NEC.COM> Sent: 18 May 2020 13:32 To: Sjoerd Meijer <Sjoerd.Meijer at
