Solve.QP
Hi there,
I have a major problem (major for me that is) with solve.QP and I'm new at this. You see, to solve my quadratic program I need to have the lagrange multipliers after each iteration. Solve.QP gives me the solution, the unconstrained solution aswell as the optimal value. Does anybody have an idea for how I could extract the multipliers?
Thanx,
Serge

Quadratic programming
Hi,
I'm quite new at R and I haven't found the answer to my question anywhere on the net, so either it is trivial or not documented. So, bare with be.
I am using the quadprog package and its solve.QP routine to solve and quadratic programming problem with inconsistent constraints, which obviously doesn't work since the constraint matrix doesn't have full rank. A way to solve this

Registering Windows 2012 impossible into samba4 after migration
hello,
We've just migrated our samba PDC v3.4.5 (FreeBSD) to samba v4.1.17
(Debian wheezy) with samba4 classic upgrade. Most of the stations
works fine.
When I try to register a Windows 2012 as a member into the new Samba
AD, Windows 2012 says it cannot authenticate the user used for
registering the new host into the domain. Of course, this user have
admin privileges into the AD target

Symbol escape sequence in xlab
I would like to label an x-axis with the nabla symbol. I have tried this
with the following symbol escape sequence
plot(1:5, 1:5, xlab=""); title(xlab="\\dl", vfont=c("serif symbol",
"plain"))
but I got the warning message
parameter "vfont" couldn't be set in high-level plot() function
Is it possible to use a symbol escape

How to remove duplicate zone names in Samba AD DNS
hello,
I have thousands of DNS entries like
BA15-1073
CNF:058373e2-f784-458f-8c7b-fbf76fa25694
in my Samba AD. I know that these records are conflicts between AD DC
synchronisation, and that I can remove it safely.
When I list the DNS with the command
samba-tool dns query localhost DOMAIN @ ALL
it appears that there is a \n between the host name (BA15-1073) and the
rest of the name

Problem using C random generator called from R
Hello
I'm trying to use C random generator function drand48() which return
floating-point values, uniformly distributed over [0,1],
(http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/007908799/xsh/drand48.html). When
values are returned to R, they are not in [0,1]. A simple C program using
drand48() gives values in [0,1] so I suppose there is a problem (type
definition ?) between C and R. Here are R

This could be a multiple supplier problem
I have finally encountered this problem in such a way that everything went awry.
Running Simcity 4 Rush Hour with the following command line:
env WINEPREFIX="/home/john/.wine" wine C:\\PROG\~FBU\\Maxis\\SIMC\~ZMW\\Apps\\SimCity\ 4.exe -intro:off
Which brought up the game, just fine.
I opened my largest city, and very soon after that, while I was adding something to the layout, the

ordered data mode?
I managed to install 0.5d today. Got all 3 of my mounts converted (even
'/' though it was a pain in the ass). Now on boot, I see:
mounted /dev/hda1 on /
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode
and the exact same thing for /dev/hda3 and /dev/hdb1. they all come up
and appear to be working. so is this normal? Or did I manage to screw up
somewhere?

As I can tell I could not register a windows 2012 Server in an nt-style

R 2.8.0 is released
I've rolled up R-2.8.0.tar.gz a short while ago. This is a development
release which contains a number of new features.
Also, a number of mostly minor bugs have been fixed. See the full list
of changes below.
You can get it (later today) from
http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.8.0.tar.gz
or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site nearer to you. In case of
impatience, try

Doubts about chi-square distribution
Dear list,
For educational purposes I have been working with the script below.
I have a observation:
line 31
#CScal[i] = (amo^2) # IT IS WRONG, I KNOW, BUT IT MAKE R TO CRASHES!
I'm thinking this is a possible bug in the R!
And I have a couple of doubts:
1) line 51
#curve(dchisq(x, n-1), add = T, col = 'red'
I think that it is correct, but the function no
