Missing arguments to new
Is this the expected and/or correct behaviour? And if so, how do I persuade new to interpret a named but missing argument as missing? ------------- setClass("testMissing",representation(a="numeric"),prototype=list(a=0)); showMissing <- function(real.arg,missing.arg) { really.missing <- new("testMissing"); show(really.missing); really.there <-

qbinom when probability is 1 (PR#5900)
Full_Name: Jonathan Swinton Version: 1.8.0 OS: Windows 2000 Submission from: (NULL) (193.132.159.34) Calling qbinom with a sample probability of 1 returns NaN > qbinom(p=0.95,size=10,prob=1) [1] NaN I believe that this is wrong and that qbinom(p,size,prob=1) should always be size for 0<p<=1. The documentation says that The quantile is defined as the smallest value x such that F(x)

How to write an S4 method for sum or a Summary generic
If I have a class Foo, then i can write an S3 method for sum for it: >setClass("Foo",representation(a="integer"));aFoo=new("Foo",a=c(1:3,NA)) >sum.Foo <- function(x,na.rm){print(x);print(na.rm);sum(x at a,na.rm=na.rm)} >sum(aFoo) But how do I write an S4 method for this? All my attempts to do so have foundered. For example

Inno setup script request
Dear all, I am a public resaerch engineer in marseille (France) and I am currently developping a free software for high throughput experiments in biology using mainly R (bioconductor). This project is almost at a finalisation stage and I would like to build an installshield using innosetup for the windows version of my software. The ideal case would be to also include the required 2.6

building source package in R run within Emacs under Windows.
Dear R-devel, I installed R-2.9.1 on the 'y:' drive which happens to be mounted to an IBRIX file system. I also downloaded and installed the Rtools bundle recommended for 2.9x. When I build a source package launching R via RGui.exe it seems to work fine: ## setting path according to "Appendix E The Windows toolset" >

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
In the file MkRules.local.in, I see the line: USE_ATLAS = NO which I believe needs to be changed to YES. But how do I specify the BLAS file *libopenblas_haswell-r0.2.20.a *and its location? R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
I was able to compile the R from the github by running build-r-devel.bat! Now need to see how to compile it with BLAS. Building Rblas.dll failing on Windows 7 (64-bit)
I'm currently attempting to build R-2.10.1 from the source on Windows 7 (64-bit version). I've downloaded the latest Rtools (Rtools211.exe) from the Murdoch-Sutherland site and have done a full install. I've also downloaded the HTML Help Workshop, MikTeX, and the InnoSetup installer. I am not using any 64-bit versions of the tools, such as the MinGW-w64, or a 64-bit version of TCL

Old style and new style classes
I have been writing quick and dirty S-plus code for years, but for a recent project I took the plunge, bought Venables and Ripley's S Programming, and implemented a class library using new style classes (in S-Plus 6.0). It worked quite nicely and I am wondering about making more routine use of them. Before I make much more of an investment, I have a few questions, both factual and subjective,

R, Wine, and multi-threadedness.
Hi, I managed to install Win32 R 2.2.0 with the CRAN Innosetup installer under Wine on x86 linux a few days ago. However, on trying to run it, MSVCP60.DLL is missing. So here is a sort of a bug report, and a couple of questions: (1) I think the R binary in the CRAN Innosetup installer was built with mingw. The R-windows FAQ did mention that this DLL is required *for Chinese/Japanese/Korean*

Build from Source fails on Loading required package Matrix
Hello: I am building R 2.15.1 from source on a Windows 7 machine with the x64 toolset, MixTeX, and InnoSetup per http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/Rtools/. I obtained the source for 2.15.1 via svn from https://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-15-branch/. This is my first try building R from source. The build seems to go far, then terminates with "undefined exports: .M.classEnv" from

openssh3.1p1 -- 'ssh' connection gets terminated

Installed it on two ipv6 systems and two ipv4 systems. Whenerer the server is an ipv4 system, ssh client seems to establish connection but it terminates immediately after printing motd message. Here is the typical failure

Setting environment variables (installation problem)
Dear All, Is it possible under WinXP to set the R binary path (...\R\bin) as an environment variable during installation? (rw2010.exe) The problem is that I've written a program that needs to know the path of Rterm.exe during installation. At the moment the user can't choose the R installation path ("/DIR={pf}\\R /SILENT"). If I would know where the user install R the

Disk Size Issue
I am sure this is not a problem, but more of a "can we do this" question. We are using Samba Version 2.0.6 and my problem is this: We have one Samba server for a site, we NFS mount filesystems from various other machines to the Samba server, we then create a directory on the Samba server and then create links under that directory to each of the mounted filesystems we want to share.

Rgui open script file selection filter wish
When using the File/Open Script.. dialogue on Windows, the list of filters offered is R files (*.R) S files (*.q,*.ssc,*.S) All files (*.*) I wish that an additional filter be offered as Sweave files (*.Rnw,*.Snw) I find that the Rgui script editor is adequate for most of my R development and tend to edit *.Rnw files there. _ platform
