NFS Mount: files owned by nobody
This is one of those simple-been-doing-this-forever things that, for some reason, has me stumped today. When I try to NFS (v4) mount a directory, the user/group ownership shows up as user "nobody" even though /etc/passwd has values for the correct user names. How do I get it to mount with the correct user IDs? Hume is the server, running CentOS 6, all updates applied, maybe a week

lustre quota problems
Hello, I''ve several problems with quota on our testcluster: When I set the quota for a person to a given value (e.g. the values which are provided in the operations manual), I''m able to write exact the amount which is set with setquota. But when I delete the files(file) I''m not able to use this space again. Here is what I''ve done in detail: lfs checkquota

R-beta: Shared libraries on AIX
I've installed R on AIX. For starters, this did not work out of the box. I got the following error message: cd graphics; make gcc -g -I../include -c gdevice.c In file included from /usr/include/sys/lockf.h:41, from /local/gnu/lib/gcc-lib/rs6000-ibm-aix4.1.3.0/2.7.2.1/include/unistd.h:354, from /usr/include/fcntl.h:156, from

WCTDM-24xxp woes
I am currently running Asterisk 1.2.8, on an AMD Sempron 3100+ (ASUS K8N Nforce based board). I am using a Digium wctdm24xxp to terminate 8 (2x quad) FXO lines. Using ztmonitor (From zapata) I cannot see that there is any registerable incoming volume from these lines. I've been running them at rxgain = 25 (zapata.conf) to make the audio audible, however this creates poor call quality issues

Suggested Motherboard for TE410P
Hi all, I'm looking for a new system which will use the TE410P. Originally I was going to use a dual Athlon MP system, but my supplier tells me these are being phased out now, and so will be difficult to find replacement parts later. So, I am looking for suggestions of suitable motherboards with 3.3V PCI slots for the following CPU types (in order of my personal preference) AMD Opteron 1xx

LVM VG disappears after kernel upgrade on 5.1
I finally got 5.1 to boot after install (install couldn't keep the disk IDs from getting crossed up, so at reboot partitions were not where install said they would be). I needed to compile vmware and nvidia modules, but decided to upgrade first. Told yumex to upgrade everything. When I went to reboot the VG with / on it is not seen by the kernel. (root partition is LVM on top of RAID

dovecot v2.3.0: imap segfault when sieve_extprograms_plugin.so called
Hi, I have recently upgraded to dovecot v2.3 on Ubuntu 16.04.3 from repo.dovecot.org and I switched to IMAPSieve for rspamd with the guide from the wiki. When a mail is moved from Junk to another Inbox or vice-versa imap segfaults. I have posted debug logs and versions below, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rhys Williams lux at bifrost:~$ dovecot --version 2.3.0 (c8b89eb) lux at

Hosed by 4.2
Hi, I have been using Centos since 3.0. I have been upgrading regularly without any major problem. 4.1 to 4.2 has been a total disaster. I ran yum update, it went through and a couple of hours later I rebooted and X froze with the screen just being just fuzz [regular rectangles, orange, green...] and the keyboard froze. Could not do a alt-ctrl-backspace, nor a Alt-F1-6 nor Alt-Ctrl-Del. I

Are there any possible undesirable effects of a BIOS upgrade? The worst I can think of is something that would change my SATA drives from being mapped as SCSI to being mapped as IDE. Ted Miller Indiana

10 year old question
Hi All, I used to run webdt.org and this was built to support a tablet computer that hit the market around the late 90?s. DT Research makes them and they get sold to mostly enterprise applications. That being said there are still a few hundred thousand of these in circulation. The hardware is a bit of a hack. Its usb1.1 with a 44 pin flash module on 44 pin pata half height headers. MFGR
