Displaying Results in Two Columns
Could I have some suggestions as to how (various ways) I can display my confidence interval results? rm(list = ls()) set.seed(1) func <- function(d,t,beta,lambda,alpha,p.gamma,delta,B){ d <- c(5,1,5,14,3,19,1,1,4,22) t <- c(94.32,15.72,62.88,125.76,5.24,31.44,1.048,1.048,2.096,10.48) post <- matrix(0, nrow = 11, ncol = B) theta <- c(lambda,beta) beta.hat <- 2.471546 for(j

Starcraft success
Kudos to the developers! The main reason I run Wine is to play games, and Starcraft is one of my favorites. Due to a number of changing variables in my system, Starcraft quit working, got some kind of a font.gid error. Couldn't figure out how to fix it; thought maybe it had something to do with the WinME native installation, so I changed the default load order to use the builtins before

qcauchy accuracy (PR#7902)
Full_Name: Morten Welinder Version: 2.1.0 OS: src only Submission from: (NULL) (216.223.241.212) Now that pcauchy has been fixed, it is becoming clear that qcauchy suffers from the same problems. qcauchy(pcauchy(1e100,0,1,FALSE,TRUE),0,1,FALSE,TRUE) should yield 1e100 back, but I get 1.633178e+16. The code below does much better. Notes: 1. p need not be finite. -Inf is ok in the log_p

Here's a contribution from Ian Smith that got bounced from the list. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [Rd] pt inaccurate when x is close to 0 (PR#9945) Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2007 06:02:43 -0400 From: iandjmsmith at aol.com To: murdoch at stats.uwo.ca Duncan, I tried sending the rest of this to R-devel but it was rejected as spam, hence the personal e-mail. Modification requests / question
Hello! 1. You should modify the 'vorbis_ftoi(f)' for the undefinied OS/compiler in the 'os.h' on this way: old: static int vorbis_ftoi(double f){ return (int)(f+.5); } new: #define vorbis_ftoi(f) ((int)(f+.5f)) Because in some cases we don't use this function, and the compiler writes many error messages. 2. Could you write a frequency and bitrate independent

qnbinom with small size is slow
Thanks Ben for verifying the issue. It is always reassuring to hear when others can reproduce the problem. Exactness of ppois
Hello, by checking the precision of a convolution algorithm, we found the following "inexactness": We work with R Version 1.8.1 (2003-11-21) on Windows systems (NT, 2000, XP). Try the code: ## Kolmogorov distance between two methods to ## determine P(Poisson(lambda)<=x) Kolm.dist <- function(lam, eps){ x <- seq(0,qpois(1-eps, lambda=lam), by=1) max(abs(ppois(x,

Stubbing out required associated models
Hello, As I''m becoming more and more familiar with mocking/stubbing, I''m going back to some of my model specs and revaluating how I wrote them. I have certain models in which validation requires the presence of an associated model, which itself needs to be valid(validates_presence_of and validates_associated). When I wrote the specs, I wrote helpers for the attributes instead

Rollbacks, Sqlite3 bug. Has this been reintroduced ?
Hey, I just updated from the edge and it looks like this _issue_ has resurfaced. Yesterday things were working (stories and specs). No code base changes, only rspec and rspec_on_rails After updating today I now need to set <config.txn...fixtures> to false in the spec_helper.rb to get the specs running, the stories are fine. Looks like the fixture loading is trying to start a txn. I
