MIDI default output port / how to select timidity by default?
Hi, Using timidity, I've been able to listen to MIDI files with Linux on a machine with an Intel 801/AC'97 chip. However, with Wine, I've had trouble. Log messages show that the first MIDI output port is used. This happens to be 'MIDI Through' 62:0, not Timidity on port 128:0. $ aconnect -ol shows the list of output ports. I have no idea what port 62:0 does (perhaps send

ISO 8601 Weeks/Years on Windows with strptime
Dear R-help, I am working on a R package for public health surveillance where the ISO 8601 representation of dates is of importance. Especially, the ISO Week and ISO Year of a date needs to be extracted. I was quite happy to find all of this implemented in the "Date" class with appropriate calls to strptime/format (using e.g. %G and %V). However, only later I realized that this

using several wine versions from .deb packages?
Hi, Wine documentation says that it can be installed anywhere, locate its libraries and just run. This is certainly true for self-compiled sources which could e.g. be run from their compiled location. I wonder if this is also possible with pre-built Debian/Ubuntu binary packages. Normally, Debian installs exactly one version of a package in /usr/. Is there some possibility to use multiple

PR#10583
Thank you for your quick reply and for only indirectly scolding me for abusing the RBugs list. :-) However, I do think there is something funny in the 2.7.0 docu (or in the code). Things behave as expected and explained by you for version 2.6.0/2.6.1, but in the development version 2.7.0 (which I was using) the output is different (see below). The CHANGES file does mention some changes about the

Results of CFA with Lavaan
I've just found the lavaan package, and I really appreciate it, as it seems to succeed with models that were failing in sem::sem. I need some clarification, however, in the output, and I was hoping the list could help me. I'll go with the standard example from the help documentation, as my problem is much larger but no more complicated than that. My question is, why is there one latent

Correlation Matrix with a Covariate
R Help - I'm trying to run a correlation matrix with a covariate of "age" and will at some point will also want to covary other variables concurrently. I'm using the "psych" package and have tried other methods such as writing a loop to extract semi-partial correlations, but it does not seem to be working. How can I accomplish this? library(psych) > set.cor(y =

Alas, using the live DVD, I couldn't check the behaviour described in comment #2 past a suspend&resume cycle, because the machine hung shortly after resume. -- You are receiving

One thing that worked well in the past with the Intel driver was when Keith put an intel_drv.so online for us users

Interface to open source Reporting tools
Hi, I am a new user of R 2.8.1. I use Tinn-R for code editing. I use a windows 2003 system with 1 GB RAM. I am interested to generate dashboard and reports based on data from MS Access. These reports need to be posted on a weekly basis to the web. The reporting interface should provide facilities for "what if" scenarios. Is it possible to interface R analysis results to good open
