Lectura de texto
Hola.
Con r <- scan(txt, character(0)) creo que debiera montarse el texto carácter a carácter.
He comprobado que funciona pero no he validado la importación del texto.
Igual es un camino que lleva a alguna parte....
Un Saludo,
Miguel.

Hello,
We have a nodejs app which is injecting first boot scripts using virt-customize however the exact same commands are working when triggered manually.
Here is the debug output of the commands

Sys.getenv(): Error in substring(x, m + 1L) : invalid multibyte string at '<ff>' if an environment variable contains \xFF
Tomas,
I think you're not addressing the actual issue which is a clear regression in Sys.getenv() [because it used to work and still works for single env var, but not a list] and the cryptic error due to that regression (caused by changes in R-devel). So in either case, Sys.getenv needs fixing (i.e., this should really go to the bugzilla). Its behavior is currently inconsistent.

tcltk freezing using MS Windows for R-2.14+
I am the maintainer of a Bioconductor package (affylmGUI) which uses
tcltk. It freezes inconsistently on MS Windows, but not Mac or Unix. see
details below.
After considerable testing I have reduced the problem from a few
thousand lines of code to 30 lines!
If you paste the following lines of code into an R window:
testGUI <- function(){

strptime problem for 2004-10-03 02:00:00
Hello, I at first thought this was a system or locale issue, but since
it occurs on
both Windows and Linux and only for 2004 (AFAIK) I report it.
I have a problem with as.POSIXct for the hour between
"2004-10-03 02:00:00 GMT" and "2004-10-03 02:59:59 GMT".
In short, the 2 AM (GMT) hour in 2004 (but not in other years) is
interpreted as 1 AM by strptime:

classicupgrade
I have a Samba 3.6 PDC (ClearOS) that I want to migrate to Sernet Samba
4.2 AD on a Centos7-arm box.
So I am reading:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Migrating_a_Samba_NT4_domain_to_a_Samba_AD_domain_%28classic_upgrade%29
And trying to figure out what files I need. Note this is a totally NEW
box, I need to copy over the needed files. So do I move all of the .tdb
files? There are actually

embeded R application on Windows prints broken character.
The issue was reported to me for?https://github.com/randy3k/rtichoke/issues/50
which is a python program which embeds R and provides a interface to R.
With R 3.5,?for reason which i don't understand, when I typed `"a"` in the console
STDOUT got `"\x02\xff\xfea\x03\xff\xfe"`?with the extra escaped characters.
I notice that `\x02\xff\xfe` and `\x03\xff\xfe` are encoding

Reading JPEG file, converting to HEX
Colleagues,
I am using R to assemble RTF documents (which are plain text). I need to embed a JPEG graphic that was created with R. I presume that the steps need to be:
a. read the file into R
b. convert the object to HEX format
c. write the converted object to a textfile.
If I read the file into R using readLines, I get the following (only the first 5 lines shown):

mcmapply Core Usage
Hello,
I have a minimal example that shows a problem I'm having with parallel processing.
library(parallel)
mcmapply(function(x, y)
{
print("Running")
Sys.sleep(10)
}, as.list(1:10), as.list(10:1), mc.cores = 16, SIMPLIFY = FALSE)
I see "Running" printed once every ten seconds. I read the documentation for mcmapply, but I don't understand why it wouldn't

Using bquote: question
Hi all
Observe:
x <- c(1,2)
y <- c(1,-1)
phi <- 1
p <- 2
par( mfrow=c(1,2))
plot(x , y, main=bquote( paste( p==.(p)," and ",phi==.(phi)) ) )
plot(y ~ x, main=bquote( paste( p==.(p)," and ",phi==.(phi)) ) )
par( mfrow=c(1,2))
On my system (details below), the first plot is correct (in my
understanding), and produces a title reading "p=2 and phi=1"

How do I get substring of utf-8 string?
I''m trying to get substring from a utf-8 encoded string. (say, first
50 characters of the string) String#[0..49] would give me the first
50 bytes not 50 characters..
I know there is jcode library, but it only let you count number of
characters in utf-8 string.
unicode gem doesn''t seem to help much. unicode_hacks gem seem to
solve the problem, but it also seems to

Random Count Generation with rnbinom
The documentation states :
An alternative parametrization (often used in ecology) is by the mean ?mu?, and ?size?, the dispersion parameter.
However, this fails :

Warning message:
In rnbinom(10, mu = 100, size = 0) : NAs produced
For dispersion set to 0, it should work like drawing from a Poisson distribution.

Strange behaviour of methods::slot() when returning a tibble
I have an S4 object class defined in a Bioconductor package which contains multiple slots, some of which are tibbles, whilst others are vectors. If I call
slot(object, name)
where 'name' is an slot that contains a vector, everything works as expected. However, when I call slot(object, name) where 'name' is an slot that contains a tibble I get the following warning:
