save multiple pages lattice-plot
Dear R-helper, I am trying to save some plots I made with lattice, but I have several pages printed for each call. My layout is something like c(col=2,row=4,pages=12) and I didn't find a way to save those plots, because I am usually using savePlot() which from what I saw can only save one page/device a the time. Is there an easy way to save all the plots? or should I use a loop and cut

Variable scope in a function
Hello, I apologise in advance for this question; I'm sure it is answered in the documentation or this mailing list many times, however the answer has eluded me. I'm trying to write a function where I don't want external variables to be scoped in from the parent environment. Given this function: test_func = function() { if (exists("kat") == FALSE) {

there are fontencoding problem in Sweave
I want write article by russian language using Sweave. For cyrillic text LaTeX use T2A encoding \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} But in Sweave.sty we find: \RequirePackage[T1]{fontenc} It is source of critical problem. For example Rnw file $ cat estimation.Rnw \documentclass[A4paper]{article} \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[russian,english]{babel}

Dovecot LDA and "undeliverable" emails
I googled around looking for this, apparantly my google-fu is failing this morning. I just switched over to using a Postfix/Dovecot virtual set-up with Dovecot as the delivery agent. One of my users mistyped his email address when he paid for something through Paypal and the reciept got forwarded to everyone. It didn't bounce or just go to Postmaster, it was delivered to every valid user on

Simple Binning of Values
Hello I am very new to R.  I have an R task to complete that I have not been able to find a straightforward answer to as of yet.  I have a list of values. I would like to count the number of values that are in one bin, the number that fall in the next bin, etc. For example My input file is:  123 48 342 442 43 232 32 129 191 147 I would like the output to be similar to:  0-100 3 100-200 4

Suggestion / patch to support more Unicode characters in R CMD Rd2pdf
Hi list, When using R CMD Rd2pdf, it is possible to set environment variable RD2PDF_INPUTENC to value "inputenx" and enjoy better support for UTF-8 characters (see ?Rd2pdf). This enables LaTeX package "inputenx" instead of "inputenc". Even better support for UTF-8 encoded characters can be had by better using the facilities provided by inputenx and making R CMD
