Building Custom Kernel - CentOS 4.4
Hi All,
I am having issue when trying to build a custom kernel in CentOS 4.4.
Current Kernel Version is 2.6.9-42.ELsmp and the server is HP Proliant DL380
G3. I downloaded the source rpm and then installed it. Gave the command,
rpmbuild -bp --target=i686 /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/kernel-2.6.spec. But it
throws me an error after patch operations. The following is the error.

I attempted to do so using yum, as was recommended, but I

[CSL #301925] centosplus kernel xfs patches and CVE-2006-1855
Hi All, we've run into a problem with the xfs component in the centosplus
kernel (2.6.9-34.106.unsupportedsmp) where synchronous writes sometimes fail
with EAGAIN. It's causing headaches for DB2 installs and for our database
research group. There is a fix reported at:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-xfs&m=110808122904352&w=2

Re: [CSL #329283] centosplus XFS bug?
We're running a mix of ext3 and xfs file systems on CentOS 4
workstations at our site. We have benefitted greatly from the increased
performance and fast (crash recovery) reboot times that we get from
xfs. We're currently running CentOS kernel 2.6.9-42.0.8.EL and xfs
version 0.2-1.
We have one host where we've got issues. It's a (very) busy imap server
with external scsi hardware

yum updates
I am trying to update my cluster servers to a newer kernel. As the
csgfs stuff is not updated for 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL yet, I have to use
2.6.9-34.0.1.EL.
If I specify to update the cluster packages, yum will automatically
find the proper kernel package to meet the dependency. The problem is
that I also need the kernel-smp-devel package installed so that I can
build a new AoE driver. It doesn't

CentOS Errata and Security Advisory 2005:808
https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2005-808.html
This update is for the CENTOSPLUS repository only.
We were waiting to roll in new code for the xfs file system from SGI,
but that code is not yet ready. This release of the CENTOSPLUS kernel
has the 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL code from upstream and is built like the
previous CENTOSPLUS kernels with all the same
