Read.dcf with no newline ending: gzfile drops last line
I don't know if this is a bug per se, but an undesired behavior in read.dcf. read.dcf takes a file argument and passes it to gzfile if it's a character: if (is.character(file)) { file <- gzfile(file) on.exit(close(file)) } This gzfile connection is passed to readLines (line #39): lines <- readLines(file) If no newline is at the end of the file, readLines

segfault with readDCF on R 3.1.2 on AIX 6.1 when using install.packages
Hi, Note that one significant change to read.dcf() that happened since R 3.0.2 is the addition of support for arbitrary long lines (commit 63281), which never worked: dcf <- paste(c("aa: ", rep(letters, length.out=10000)), collapse="") writeLines(dcf, "test.dcf") nchar(read.dcf("test.dcf")) # aa # [1,] 8186 The culprit being line

"table(droplevels(aq)$Month)" in manual page of droplevels
The last line of the example in droplevels' manual page seems to be incorrect to me. I think it should read: "table(droplevels(aq$Month))". Amazingly (I don't understand) both variants seem to produce the same result (R 3.3.3): --- > aq <- transform(airquality, Month = factor(Month, labels = month.abb[5:9])) > aq <- subset(aq, Month != "Jul") >

problem with va_list type (alpha) (PR#421)
Full_Name: Albrecht Gebhardt Version: 0.99.0 OS: alpha, osf4.0 Submission from: (NULL) (143.205.180.40) Both DEC cc and gcc complain (osf4.0, alpha) about applying an unary operator (!) to a non scalar type (va_list arg) in printutils.c I'm not sure if I understood what was intended by "!arg" (see below), but with this patch I at least was able to compile. (and R runs now, but I

Possible bug in Rcons_vprintf
In R-2-4-branch r39548, Rcons_vprintf is called from stdout_vfprintf when R_Outputfile is NULL. When called and output is greater than R_BUFSIZE, output is truncated to R_BUFSIZE. Here's a one-line fix: Index: src/main/printutils.c =================================================================== --- src/main/printutils.c (revision 39548) +++ src/main/printutils.c (working

segfault with readDCF on R 3.1.2 on AIX 6.1 when using install.packages
Here's an update: I checked the ChangeLog for R, and it seems like readDCF was changed in 3.0.2. I went on a whim and copied src/main/dcf.c from R 2.15.3 over to 3.2.2, and R compiled fine and install.packages now work for me. This is probably not ideal, but it at least makes R usable on AIX for me. Would definitely like to help figure out what's wrong with the new dcf.c on AIX.

Problems installing packages using the inbuilt facility: "Error i n gzfile(file, "r") : unable to open connection"
Hi I have been trawling the web, FAQs, and R manuals for help on the following issue, but have failed and was wondering if anyone has a solution to the following problem: After having installed R 2.6.2 for Windows (binary), I tried to install various packages. Every time I try loading a package (any package) via the built-in menu, I run into the following error message. >

Merging Irregular Time Series With NAs
Hi I have two irregular time series, which are of different lengths and being and end at different times. For the common subset of time that they both span, they should have the same values, but the values may occur at slightly different time intervals. I am trying to "line up" the identical values and reconcile them. I have merged the two series into a zoo object which looks

So I needed to merge 17 .csv files, and did so by brute force, but I might need to do so again. Anyone have suggestions for a for loop that might do the below for me (where a:r are separate .csv files) ab<-merge(a,b,all=TRUE) cd<-merge(c,d,all=TRUE) ef<-merge(e,f,all=TRUE) gh<-merge(g,h,all=TRUE) ij<-merge(i,j,all=TRUE) kl<-merge(k,l,all=TRUE) no<-merge(m,n,all=TRUE)

opus manpages
Dear authors of Opus, currently, the manpages that come with opus-tools are written in the traditional man(7) markup language. I am proposing to rewrite them into the semantic markup of the mdoc(7) language. I am willing to do the work. Both the man(7) and mdoc(7) languages have been around for decades, and are supported by the prevalent formatters: groff(1) on most Linuxes and mandoc(1) on the
