Can the output of Sys.getenv() be improved?
Within an R session, type Sys.getenv() will list all the environment variables, but each one of them occupies about a page, so scrolling to find one is difficult. Is this because I don't know how to use it or something could be improved? Usually I'm not sure the exact name of a variable but want to look it up. Recently I installed rjags, with the JAGS-3.4.0's lib, include, modules

rpart and TREE, can be the same?
Hi, all,
I am wondering if it is possible to set parameters of 'rpart' and 'tree'
such that they will produce the exact same tree? Thanks.

Help with lrm function in package Design
Hi, there,
I am having trouble using 'lrm' function in package 'Design'. Basically,
the ' . ' after ' ~ ' wouldn't work. Here are some sample codes:
> temp <-
data.frame(a=c(rep(0,3),rep(1,3)),b=rnorm(6),c=c('a','b','c','a','b','c'))
> lrm(a~.,data=temp)

[Q] Get formal arguments of my implemented S4 method
I'm attempting to reflect the information for use with corresponding
fields in GUI (in a different package), to provide default values,
argname as key for UI label lookups, etc.
So I want something much more like the formals of the implementation:

"method": c("median", "vs", "tukey"),

[RFC] btrfs-progs: fix sparse checking and warnings
Hi gang,
I was a little surprised to see that patch go by recently
which fixed an endian bug. I went to see how sparse
checking looked and it was.. broken. I got it going
again in my Fedora environment.
Most of the patches are just cleanups, but there *were*
three real bugs lurking in all that sparse warning spam.
So I maintain that it''s worth our time to keep it going
and fix

[PATCH] btrfs-progs: use btrfs error code for kernel errors
Now with the below kernel patch, the excl operations like dev
add/replace/resize and balance returns the btrfs error
code defined in btrfs.h, this patch will help btrfs-progs
(and thus user) to know the error string on the terminal
(instead of /var/log/messages as previously kernel did).
This patch depends on the btrfs kernel patch:

[PATCH v2] rescue: add --autosysroot option RHBZ#1183493
--autosysroot option uses suggestions to user on how to mount filesystems
and change root suggested by --suggest option in virt-rescue.
Commands are passed on kernel command line in format
guestfs_command=command;. Command ends with a semicolon and there can be
multiple commands specified. These are executed just before bash starts.
On successfull run user is presented directly with bash in

[PATCH 00/17] Btrfs-progs: some receive related patches
Most fixes are trivial.
The one from Alex is fixing a real bug that several users have reported.
Alex sent the patch half a year ago and it was not yet integrated.
The patch "Use /proc/mounts instead of /etc/mtab" is a repost.
The patch "btrfs-receive optionally honors the end-cmd" is a preparation
step to allow backup tools to multiplex a single communication stream

[R] S4 method dispatch matrixOrArray (fwd)
What a delicious example! (I'm taking the liberty of sharing it with
r-devel, since it raises some good issues.)
You have two questions, presumably:
1 - how could the order of the setMethod calls make a difference in the
results?
2 - what's causing the infinite loop & how could it be avoided, reliably?
Second question first. The danger sign is the "vector" method:

[Request for review] [RFC] Add label support for snapshots and subvols
From: Anand Jain <anand.jain@oracle.com>
(This patch is for the review/test not yet for the integration).
Here is an implementation of the feature to add label to the
subvolume and snapshots. Which would help sysadmin to better manager
the subvol and snapshots.
This can be done in two ways, one - using attr which is user land
only changes but drawback is able to change the label
