Gamepad missing buttons
I am trying to use a Guillemot gamepad with PES6 but the buttons are not recognized. In kubuntu system settings I can see my pad, callibrate the joysticks and see the buttons are recognized, but not inside wine (only the joysticks are recognized). I have tried different combinations for the DirectInput entry in the registry but either I have not stumbled upon the correct one or there is another

patch to add a menu item in Rgui for RSiteSearch
Please consider adding the following to the next R release (I understand that it's too late for R-2.1.0). It adds the menu item `Search R Site' in the `Help' menu in Rgui (which calls RSiteSearch() on the input string). mvbutils and trackObjs
Hello Colleagues, I've recently become a fan of Mark Bravington's mvbutils package for organizing analysis projects in a tree. Using cd(), Save(), fixr(), mlazy() etcetera solves nicely some of the nuisances that have worried or annoyed me and sometimes caused big problems over the years. Well thought out. Now one feature that would be fabulous would be automatic time-stamping of

mongrel error on debian sarge
Hi, I cannot get mongrel working on i686 debian sarge, whereas it works quite well on another ppc box under debian unstable. Instead I can use scgi_rails or webbrick without any problem. Here is the error: # mongrel_rails start /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.12.4/lib/mongrel/rails.rb:28: uninitialized constant Mongrel::HttpHandler (NameError) from

millisecond precision over internet
Hi, I''m new to programming and ruby and ROR, but I''m hoping to learn ruby to create custom scientific software. Mainly it involves measuring people''s reaction time to a series of words. I''m positive that this is possible using plain ruby on a computer (cause this is BASIC territory right?). But I want to create a ROR app that can do the same thing. My

Free "Agile Web Development with Rails" Text
Hi All, I''m a RoR n00b that has been lurking for a week or so. About two weeks ago I bought the text version of Agile Web Development with Rails. Today, I bought the .pdf version because I run a Sony Notebook and find a .pdf more user friendly. Therefore I have the text to give away for free. If anyone in the continental US would like the copy please let me know and I''ll mail it

Windows testing
R 1.4.0 is now sinking into feature freeze, and we'd like some help testing it under Windows. Duncan Murdoch and Uwe Ligges have already volunteered. I've put a copy of SetupR140.exe at http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/bdr/RWin Also in that directory is a file TESTING suggesting some tests, not all of which have been run on this build. As the graphics internals have been changed a lot

Do you know if you can map a large minimum spanning tree in R?
Thanks Mike. My data has longitude and latitude coords and I used distAB {clim.pact} then mst {ape} to calculate my minimum spanning tree. The nodes are telecoms sites from all over Australia. My goal is to determine the minimum cost of linking them via cabling, and I'm starting by calculating the distance "as the crow flies", but will probably eventually need to calculate the

Do you know if you can map a large minmum spanning tree in R?
Do you know if you can map in R? I have my minimum spanning tree, but as there are 1371 nodes (all over Australia) I'd like to be able to "graph" them as they actually would be on the map. Do you know if this is possible?

masking a regular lat/lon grid to extract map boundaries
Dear R-helpers, I have lat/lon coordinates of regularly spaced grid points, about 4Km apart, covering the entire US continental region. I would like to mask this rectangular grid in order to extract all and only the grid points within a specific region. Today I want to extract Montana, say, from this grid, and I am hoping to somehow use the returned value of the function
