mapper device perms on reboot
How can I get the mapper device permissions set on reboot?
When I attempted to try this...
# cat /etc/udev/permissions.d/50-udev.permissions | grep mapper
mapper/mpath*:oracle:dba:0660
But it did not seem to work...
# ls -l /dev/mapper/mpath*

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
Anyone have any ideas? It's rather annoying that I can't get these to
persist across reboots without using some kind of helper script.

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
Hello all, hoping someone can help me out here.
I cannot get dummy interfaces on a new Cent8 build to persist across reboots.
On Cent7 - this is the process I use:
Create Dummies:
# cat /etc/modules-load.d/dummy.conf
dummy
# cat /etc/modprobe.d/dummyopts.conf
options dummy numdummies=4
# ip link add dummy0 type dummy
## - repeating a/ ascending dummyN adapters for as many needed

No. Network Manager is always disabled on our builds since at least
Cent5 days. The network stack has always been able to be managed
properly without relying on Network Manager. Is that now an absolute
requirement? It never has been prior.

selinux + kvm virtualization + smartd problem
Hello,
I'm using HP homeserver where host system run CentOS 6.3 with KVM
virtualization with SELinux enabled, guests too run the same OS (but
without SELinux, but this does not matter).
Host system installed on mirrors based on sda and sdb physical disks.
sd{c..f} disks attached to KVM guest (whole disks, not partitions;
needed to use zfs (zfsonlinux) benefit features). Problem is that

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
Requirement is a very strong word , but you should consider using it and here is a short demo why:
- By default, RHEL uses NetworkManager to configure and manage network connections, and the /usr/sbin/ifup and /usr/sbin/ifdown scripts use NetworkManager to process ifcfg files in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory.
[root at system ~]# ls -l /usr/sbin/ifup

Have you tried to use NetworkManager ?
After all ,anything network related should be done by it.
[root at system ~]# nmcli connection add con-name dummy0 ifname dummy0 type dummy ?
Connection 'dummy0' (9fdd74fa-c143-4991-9bac-0e542704ac89) successfully added.

Shared connection to glustera closed.

Resize ocfs....?
I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below]
I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04.
Per instructions...
Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 '
Supposedly this should work, but I get get....
The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G.
Aborting.

calling objects in a foreloop
I want to organize outputs from several regressions into a handy table. When I
try the following, each of my "fit_s" is replaces instead of read. Is there a
way to read from the regression summaries that does not require writing
separate lines of code for each?

Ocfs mount issues

Mount -t ocfs -o uid=oracle,gid=dba /dev/sda /ocfs01 as user oracle and

However it mounts the volume as root.
But if I use the ocfstool for the first and mount it as oracle:dba, the
subsequent mounts using the above command line mounts the volume as
oracle:dba.
Is there something that I am missing or I will have
