R unable to run on Mac OS 10.4 Tiger
Hello, I'm running a PB G4 with Mac OS 10.4.1. I have downloaded the latest version R-2.1.0a.dmg. It appears that R does not work. It launches itself, but the window never gets ready, there is written "Loading R..." and a small progress wheel keeps turning indefinitely. Could someone help or suggest something? THANKS !! [Slightly OT] Use CentOS to create a bootable Mac OS X DVD from dmg file?
Hi, Sorry if this is only half-CentOS-related. In my office, I'm running CentOS on all my systems (server, workstation, laptop, sandbox PCs). A colleague brought me her MacBook Pro to upgrade it from OS X 10.5.7 to 10.11.6. I downloaded the 5.8 GB dmg file and now I wonder how to create a bootable DVD with this using only Linux tools. 1. Can I simply burn this as a data DVD with K3B? 2.

imagemagic / rmagic dmg for OSX?
Is there a pre-built disk image for rmagic on OSX (including image magic and all the other pre-requisites)? I''ve seen that it comes on the Locomotive image but I don''t want to replace my entire development environment. Does anybody have a sense of how reliable it is on OSX? I''ve seen some fairly negative comments when googling, but that''s not the best way to

Problem with graphics device in Mac OS X
Hello List, I am teaching a basic course where students are encouraged to use R. There are a few students using Mac OS X. As a test we downloaded and installed the latest .dmg file (R-2.6.1.dmg) onto a intel Mac running 10.5.1. A device query yields > getOption("device") "quartz" But any plot command does not bring up a plot (e.g. plot(), boxplot(), hist()). I found a

MacOS X: update.packages(type="mac.binary") fails (PR#7836)
Message 2 of today: it works now. After re-installing R.app from the same R-2.1.0.dmg file, and fixInNamespace'ing(*) install.packages(), I managed to update 23 outdated packages from CRAN binaries for MacOS X. What I did was to: 1. change call to .install.macbinaries() into call to install.binaries() in install.packages(). install.binaries() is a function defined utils/R/aqua/GUI.R. 2. I

R for Mac 10.3.9
I know nothing of Macintosh, so please be patient. My student has a Macintosh with OSX 10.3.9. The R for Mac says it is for 10.4.4 or higher. Aside from saying "get a new Mac," what can be said to my student? Can you point me at the newest version of R that did work on 10.3 ? pj -- Paul E. OSX 10.9 appdmg/pkgdmg
Howdy, Trying to install dmg files with puppet. However, after running my manifest the .dmg file is never downloaded by curl. I tried pkgdmg and appdmg. I also tried using a local directory as the source. It seems to ignore any path I give as the source even totally bogus ones. 1 define pkg_deploy($sourcedir = false) { 2 $sourcedir_real = $sourcedir ? { 3 false
