CRAN task view for genetics
Hello to everyone! I have built CRAN task view for genetics. For now I have not submit it to CRAN yet and it can be accessible from: http://www.bfro.uni-lj.si/MR/ggorjan/software/R/Genetics.html http://www.bfro.uni-lj.si/MR/ggorjan/software/R/Genetics.ctv I have not submitted it to CRAN, since I would like first some opinion about it. Genetics is really so broad field that I belive one person

Problem in loading all packages all at once
Hi All Please see the Rprofile file which i have modified as follows and after that when I start R then I see that R says to me "TRUE" for all the packages implying that all loaded at once. But when i try to use commands as simple as help("lm"), it doesnt work nor any of the menu "Packages" is not working. Although the regression using lm ( Y ~ X ) is working

Quantian 0.6.9.2 with over 500 CRAN / BioC packages
I posted the following a little earlier on the quantian-announce list -- but it may be of interest here as well as this version contains all (but three, see below) packages from CRAN, and all of BioConductor. Quantian strives to provide the easiest way to set up a very complete scientific computing environment with a wide variety of tools -- including R, ESS, Ggobi, almost all of CRAN, all of

Adding data labels to Lattice plots
Hi, I am new to lattice graphics and have the following question. I have a dataframe d2: cat PointsInTime MeanScore 1 Parent Intake 26.25000 2 Youth Intake 9.75000 3 Worker Intake 20.63636 4 Parent Discharge 24.00000 5 Youth Discharge 15.60000 6 Worker Discharge 23.90909 and to produce a plot I am using the following code print(xyplot(MeanScore ~

mixture models/latent class regression comparison
Dear list, I have been comparing the outputs of two packages for latent class regression, namely 'flexmix', and 'mmlcr'. What I have noticed is that the flexmix package appears to come up with a much better fit than the mmlcr package (based on logLik, AIC, BIC, and visual inspection). Has anyone else observed such behaviour? Has anyone else been successful in using the mmlcr

existing package (mmlcr) modification -- appropriate process?
All: I am new to R and would like your help in identifying the appropriate process to follow in order to modify the output from an existing package. I've had difficulty finding an answer online, perhaps because I am using incorrect terminology. A package that I am using (mmlcr) invokes another package (multinom). An output of multinom is the standard errors, but this output is not

Extracting individual parameter estimates from mmlcr
I am new to mmlcr and am working on a latent class mixture model attempting to identify the trajectory and number of classes that best describes my data. I am able to find model parameters such as degrees of freedom, loglikelihood, and BIC. For example, here is a cubic 3-class model I am using. mmlcr1 <- mmlcr(outer = ~ 1 | ID, components = list(list(formula = Score ~ poly(wave,3), class =

bug in mmlcr ? (PR#10576)
Hi the list. Is there a bug in mmlcr package ? The following code does not compile: mmlcrTest <- function(dataW){ dataL <- reshape(dataW,idvar="id",timevar="T",varying=list("T0","T1","T2"),direction="long",v.names="score") resultR <- mmlcr(outer= ~ 1 | id, components = list(list(formula =

R Package: mmlcr and/or flexmix
Greetings I'm a relatively new R user and I'm trying to build a latent class model. I've used the 'R Site Search' and it appears there's not much dialogue on these packages On mmlcr, I've gotten it working, but not sure if I'm using it correctly. On flexmix, I can only seem to get results for one class. I'm attaching my code below - if anyone

formal process for orphaning a package
The CRAN policy page (https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/policies.html) implies that there is a formal procedure for orphaning a package but none is mentioned in the Extensions manual (https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-devel/R-exts.html). This page (https://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Orphaned/README) implies that one would simply resubmit the package to CRAN with the text

Orphaning rubygem-mongrel and related packages
I haven't used Mongrel for any of my projects in some time now, so I'm no longer an active user and have been unable to find the time to keep up with them. I'm orphaning the following packages, so they're up for grabs for anyone actually using them: rubygem-mongrel rubygem-gem_plugin rubygem-fastthread Looks like the following packages rely on mongrel:

Biodem 0.1/orphaning of MAlmig
Together with Alessio Boattini of the University of Bologna we have created a package called Biodem. Biodem provides a number of functions for Biodemographycal analysis, and we hope it will be useful to the anthropological community. Because Biodem contains all the functions found in Malmig (a package I maintain), I would like to orphan it, or, even better, have it removed from CRAN. Finally,

Efficient cbind of elements from two lists
Hi! I have a data.frame "data" and splitted it. data <- split(data, data[,1]) This is a quite slow procedure; and I do not want to do it again. So, any unsplit and "resplit" is no option for me. But: I have to cbind "variables" to the splitted data from another list, that contains of vectors with matching sizes, so for (i in 1:length(data)) { data[[i]]

(no subject)
Dear List, Does anyone have experience using mmlcr Package? I am working on a longitudinal dataset. The model fitting is fine. However, I had a problem with the command "plot.mmlcr". It seems to me it can not plot a very nice trajectory plot for longitudinal dataset. I wonder whether somebody can share the experience, i.e. how to make a nice trajectory plot for longitudinal data.
