Unable to build R-2.10.0 and later releases on AIX 6.1
Hi,
I have been able to build R-2.9.2 on AIX 6.1 and AIX 5.2. However, I
failed to build R-2.10.0 and later releases on these AIX platforms. The
error messages I got are attached below:

Compiling R-1.5.0 failed on AIX4.3
Dear R-help,
I've having some trouble building R on AIX. I'm using gcc/g77/g++. The
error occurs when building the methods package:
gmake[4]: Entering directory
`/.../merck.com/fs/user/liawand/R-1.5.0/src/library
/methods'
dumping R code in package 'methods'

still trouble (RE: Compiling R-1.5.0 failed on AIX4.3)
Dear R-help,
I deleted `methods' from the list of packages in Makeconf.in and was able to
get through the compilation. However, `make check' fails, and R seems to
have trouble loading share libs. When starting R, it complained about not
finding the X libs and quits. If I specify --gui=none, then it starts but
complains about not being able to load the shared lib for `ctest'.

problems compiling R on AIX5.1 (PR#2953)
Dear all,
after trying to compile R on our IBM Power3/AIX 5.1 machine I've
been able to run it correctly.
First of all I would thank all who responded my mails.
I explain here how I've done it:
First of all, it seems that configure and some shared libraries of
AIX does not work at the same time. I tried to configure & make with
the following environment vars
CC=xlc
F77=xlf
CCC=xlC

Pacaging/build issues with AIX and vac (dovecot-2.2.25)
Hi.
I finally decided it was really time to stop being lazy and really move
away from gmail. After I have a server in my basement using power, etc.
So I turned on the imap provided - and did not quite cry - it will have
to do for now, but imap2 is wanting.
A real server yes, but not Linux. (Using linux would require another
server AND I would feel I am being lazy again).
So, I downloaded

R for AIX - guidance re: error messages requested
Hi all,
With the bug in tre identified I am trying to move forward - one step at
a time.
As I am getting some errors that prevent make completing with version
3.2.3, and R-devel introduces new issues (that I will face when I get to
them) I would appreciate some guidance with output of "make check" (of
3.1.3) and the final message I run into when trying to build 3.2.3.
Maybe they
