FW: Package Installation in RGui (PR#7262)
I didn't load the package. I wasn't able to do that, since I wasn't successfull to install it in first place with install.packages. -----Original Message----- From: Uwe Ligges [mailto:ligges@statistik.uni-dortmund.de] Sent: pon 2005-03-14 15:34 To: Gorjanc Gregor Cc: r-devel@stat.math.ethz.ch Subject: Re: [Rd] Package Installation in RGui (PR#7262) Under Windows, you cannot update /

Build package for R 2.0.1 under Windows
This summer I and a colleague built a package for R v 1.9.1 containing C-code under Windows. That only worked for us when R was installed in c:\program files\R. Now I have R v 2.0.1 and the same package won't build. I get the following C:\Program Files\R\rw2001\bin>rcmd check "c:\program files\r\rw2001\src\library\ sag" * checking for working latex ...latex: not found NO * using

creating a package without lazy loading
When I do a R CMD build --binary then I get the messages at the end of this post unless I specify LazyLoad: no in the DESCRIPRION file. If I do that then everything proceeds smoothly. R CMD check proceeds smoothly in either case. Is there something I should be aware of that is causing this message when I do not turn off lazy loading? I am using Windows XP and R 2.0.1 beta

Package Installation on networked disk (was: Package Installation in RGui (PR#7262))
Hi again! I would just like to add that this surely must be a problem with network disks. As I reported yesterady in, https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2005-March/032431.html I have problems with installing packages on network drive (where I have R installed), marked N: > install.packages("gap") trying URL `http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/2.0/PACKAGES'

Problems compiling C code on windows
Hi all, I can't get my C routines running on a windows box. I have no problems at all in Linux. On windows, I have installed cygwin and the compilation works well but once I execute "dyn.load(.)" it hangs whatever I use C/C++ interfaces. In Linux it works wonderful but I need to get this code running on windows boxes. I know that the problem should be something with the

Installation of XML library can't find libxml2.dll
Sorry to ask a (probably) dumb question, but I am trying to install XML package on Windows XP, R 2.0.1, and I get the error: "This application has failed to start because libxml2.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" > library(XML) Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library

Windows Batch File
Hiya, I have read the FAQ for windows and read point 2.10. I setup a dos batch file which contains the following line: C:\progra~1\R\rw2001\bin\Rterm.exe --vanilla I then tried: R CMD BATCH --argument myscript.R result.out then it started R. I thought by running R CMD BATCH executes R non-interactively. I am working on a Windows XP. I tried it on a Mac OSX and that worked fine. So I'm not

using postgresql with R/RODBC
Hi, Please excuse these questions if they're obvious. I'm new to R. I need to access a Postgres db from R. I'm currently trying RODBC as I spend part of my time on Windows and rdbi.pgsql seems not to support windows at this time. I unzipped the RODBC win binary download into my library directory and tried to load it using library(RODBC) I get the following error: Error in

R CMD check
Dear r-devel members, I tried to build R packages on a PC running Windows XP but experience problems. However, it is ok when there is no inst directory in a package. Any help would be appreciated. The following is an example, C:\work>R CMD check VR_7.2-19.tar.gz * checking for working latex ... OK * using log directory 'C:/work/VR.Rcheck' * using R version 2.1.1, 2005-06-20 *

update.packages keeps trying to update gregmisc
If I issue the command > update.packages() it wants to update 'gregmisc' but then if I do it again right afterwards it still wants to update 'gregmisc'. It should have updated everything the first time and should not be trying to update anything the second time. Any comments? Here is the transcript of a session (R version at end): > update.packages() gregmisc :

solution: package install probs. win-xp. file move
Hi, This is just an FYI documenting a conflict between R and Google-Desktop. The solution was to click on the Google-Desktop icon in the systray and click on "Pause Indexing". I also temporarily suspended anti-virus scanning before successfully install.packages("VR") many times without getting an error message. I was getting an intermittant failure when I tried to install a

install.packages() - old version deleted, new version did not install
Dear list, (R 2.12.0, Windows 7, 64bit) I recently tried to install a new package ("spacetime"), that depends on "sp" among others. I already had the last one installed, but there was probably a newer version on CRAN, so the command > install.packages("spacetime") also gave me: also installing the dependencies ?sp?, ?zoo?, ?xts? sp was already loaded in this

read.spss {foreign} doesn't work over network?
I'm unable to open an SPSS file over my network. If I copy it to my local C:/ drive I can read it. I saved the command (in a "crib sheet" text file) in order to avoid all the typing, so I'm pretty sure I've done it before. I verified that the file I'm trying to read is OK. This is what happens: > SurveyData <-

library location and error messages when loading packages
Hello, I am running R on a server that several people share. Previously we all had separate libraries for R. I have set up R so everyone on the server shares the same library and I downloaded the latest version of R and installed it on the main drive of our server in the "Program Files" folder (obvious enough). I changed the Environmental Variables in the advanced system setting so
