binary R for Fedora Core 2 e tcl
I update my linux version of FC1 for FC2.
FC2 uses tcl-8.4.5 and R-1.9.0 (rpm version for FC1, not install/not
run).
We have the rpm binary version at FC2?

Difficulty with 'loess' function
Hi,
I am trying to create a loess smooth from hydrologic data. My goal is to
create a smooth line that describes discharge at a certain point in time. I
have done this using the 'lowess' function and had no problem, but I'm
having some difficulty with loess. I am inputting the date ('date') and
discharge ('q') values using the 'scan' function, then inputting

Is there a function for scatter3d with Categorical responses?
Hello,
I'm working with a series (30+) of hydrologic metrics and 10 vegetation
communities and I need to determine which of the metrics provide the best
separability for each of the vegetation communities. The hydrologic
metrics are highly correlated, therefore the need to reduce the number of
them considered is critically important.
I've been looking at the scatter3d function in the

chron is.weekend() function
Hello,
I have a dataset which has fields giving both calendar date and weekday. I
know better functions are now available, but I am still using chron because
of the is.holiday() function and a homemade (even Heath Robinson would be
ashamed) is.daylight() function.
As a check for typos in the data input, I checked that the dates matched the
weekdays. I'm getting some confusing results

time series analysis for a time series without a regular frequency
Hello,
I am trying to conduct a time series analysis on historic hydrologic data,
but I cannot coerce it into class ts because it does not have regular
sampling intervals (some years have 20 samples, other have 8). Specifically
I am trying to perform a CUSUM or or other step change detection, but the
packages all seem to require data as ts.
Is there a way to coerce my data into ts while

Thanks a lot to David and Kimmo. Yes I see now that I need to provide the two raw tables. Find here the reproducible example.
Kind regards

Hi again,
your code is still not reproducible without modifications, but I
succeed in getting the data straight. All read.csv-command are missing
'sep="\t"', it is need to read you tsv-data.
And it could be more reproducible if you used e.g.
--- snip ---
aes<-read.csv(text=" A.A B.B C.C D.D E.E F.F
A.A 0 0 5 5 5 5
B.B 4 0 1 1 1 1

help with time series
Hello everyone
I'm working with R 2.8.1 on a windows machine
I have a question regarding time series analysis
The first question is how does R expect the input file to be structured?
I'm working with a *.txt file similar to the abbreviated one here:

4/3/1953,7.56
4/4/1953,7.54

4/7/1953,7.47

Hi,
a quick additional note: try
"edge.width= E(.)$weight"
instead of the current "edge.width= network". Seems to work and makes a
visible difference...

multiple comparisons of time series data
I am interested in a statistical comparison of multiple (5) time series'
generated from modeling software (Hydrologic Simulation Program Fortran). The
model output simulates daily bacteria concentration in a stream. The multiple
time series' are a result of varying our representation of the stream within
the model.
Our main question is: Do the different methods used to represent a
