Thanks to Andy Liaw and prof.Ripley for their comments.
I finally managed my function set work without need for proper

Full_Name: Sven Sandin
Version: 2.0.0
OS: SuSE Linux 9.0
Submission from: (NULL) (81.227.17.135)
Have just compiled and installed R-2.0.0.tar.gz running SuSE9.0.
The function vcov do not accept "coxph" object as input any longer.
The same R-program running R1.9.1 do work. R-program attached below.
Exporting the coxph object from R2.0.0 to R1.9.1 I get vcov ouput in R1.9.1.

library in R2.0.0
Hi all
I upgraded to 2.0.0 version and did everything as I used to do
before.
I installed windows binary, copy/paste other than bundled
packages.
I got e.g.

Error in library(chron) : 'chron' is not a valid package -- installed <
2.0.0?
so I loaded it from CRAN and everything worked OK except my
own personal functions (they are not on CRAN). So I went

wine-win3.1 program in SuSE8.2 - help
Help
I am not having much success getting the program to work and would
appreciate some pointers and suggestions for further tests.
I ran the program: wine accts.exe
from its program directory
without debug and got the following:
wine already configured, run 'winesetup' to reconfigure.
why is the above msg considering that wine would not run if it wasn't
configured?
I hope the

Update request: When support for live snapshot delete incl coalesce
Does the libvirt development team have a sense of when/which version of
libvirt will support the deletion of live snapshots, incl. the coalesce.
With the restriction that you cannot delete the most recent snapshot!

Suggestion: 'method' slot for expand.grid() (incl. diffs)
Dear expeRts,
The order in which the variables vary in expand.grid() is often unintuitive. I
would like to suggest a 'method' slot for expand.grid() which requires only very
little changes (100% backward compatible) and which allows one to control this
order. Please find attached diffs against R-devel.
Cheers,
Marius

R hangs when connected via VPN [incl. minimal example]
Dear expeRts,
This is a similar post as on R-SIG-MAC [I didn't receive an answer there; not sure if it was the right place to post either].
I'm running R version 2.12.1 (Platform: x86_64-apple-darwin9.8.0/x86_64 (64-bit))
on a MacBook Pro under Mac OS X 10.6.6. The following minimal example runs fine
under this setup. However, if I am connected to a server via a VPN client

incl.non.slopes=FALSE does not work at predict.lm
Dear all,
I am trying to estimate the prediction from a fixed effects model and their
confidence intervals as well. Though I do not want to include in the
prediction and at the confidence intervals the intercept. For that reason I
used the argument incl.non.slopes=FALSE. But either if it is TRUE or FALSE
it does not have any difference and also the system does not provide any
warning. I really

read.table opening a website incl Password
Dear all,
in the past I have been able to access websites with data directly. For
example the following code works nicely
mydata <-
read.table("http://www.lifetable.de/data/MPIDR/POL_2004.txt", header=TRUE)
But what happens if I need a username and password (a different site)?
How do I do that? Or is it not possible to this in R?
I tried something like this
mydata.frame <-

Fatal error: invalid home drive
Dear R-helpers,
I have just installed R2.0.0 onto my machine which already had R1.9.1
present.
I then tried to add to R2.0.0 a library called GLMM written by James McBroom
for R1.6.0. Unfortunately, R2.0.0 does not recognise the library, even
though
R1.9.1 does. This is not because I have used the wrong case in the call to
the
library:
