Problems with Rcmd check in rw2000dev
Hola! I am doing some minimal changes on the package SenSrivastava to make it fit for R2.0.0 (This package passed Rcmd check on earlier versions of R, and are passing the CRAN daily checks!) I am using rw2000dev from CRAN. Now i get (running in an Xemacs shell): installing R.css in C:/R/rw2000dev/src/gnuwin32/SenSrivastava.Rcheck ---------- Making package SenSrivastava ------------ adding

Problem in building a package in R 2.0.0
Dear all I am trying to build a package in Windows. I use the following command (which it used to work with previous versions ) and I am getting the following error #-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C:\PROGRA~1\R\rw2000\bin>Rcmd build --binary --use-zip C:\PROGRA~1\R\rw2000\src\library\gamlss * checking for

power and sample size for a GLM with Poisson response variable
Craig, Thanks for your follow-up note on using the asypow package. My problem was not only constructing the "constraints" vector but, for my particular situation (Poisson regression, two groups, sample sizes of (1081,3180), I get very different results using asypow package compared to my other (home grown) approaches. library(asypow) pois.mean<-c(0.0065,0.0003) info.pois <-

creating a package without lazy loading
When I do a R CMD build --binary then I get the messages at the end of this post unless I specify LazyLoad: no in the DESCRIPRION file. If I do that then everything proceeds smoothly. R CMD check proceeds smoothly in either case. Is there something I should be aware of that is causing this message when I do not turn off lazy loading? I am using Windows XP and R 2.0.1 beta

asypow.noncent: how does it work?
I am trying to do power calculations for the proportional odds model using the asypow library. The code noncenta90b10<-asypow.noncent(theta.ha=a9010,info.mat=infomatrixa90b10,constraints=constrt) returns Error in max(..., na.rm = na.rm) : invalid "mode" of argument. the various arguments I've used are: a9010 [,1] [1,] -1.7357568 [2,] -0.1928619 specifying the

Building package/DESCRIPTION file not existing?
Hello useRs I am trying to build a package for personal use and for making easier working with other people but I keep getting the same error message about the DESCRIPTION file not existing. when trying to install from a source tar.gz file: Error in .read_description(dfile) : file 'C:/Users/PropriƩtaire/AppData/Local/Temp/RtmpHFMONb/R.INSTALL647a3535/mypkg/DESCRIPTION' does not

Building a package under WIN2000 / rw2.0
I have an odd problem in building a package with only R-code in it. I have a package mainly used by myself which I last build under R 1.9.0. The operation system is Win2000 5.00.2195, Service Pack 3 When I do: c:\stat\r\rw2000\bin\Rcmd install --docs=normal --build --library=c:\stat\R\bxc\library c:\stat\R\bxc\library.sources\xx then after updating help pages I get: preparing package xx for

Is there a global option somewhere that can completely disable the LazyLoad option? I want all my packages in source format for searching purposes, crippled by the conversion to database format. ---------------------------------------------------------- SIGSIG -- signature too long (core dumped)

create an object list in a loop
Hi! Probably I perform this question because I did'nt still understand the R-philosophy. I have to build many matrix, with different dimensions, and I would to assign them a same 'prefix' name, i.e. "aval", but, obviuosly different suffix, something like: for (i in 1:n) { aval%i% <- matrix(scan(data....),nrow=nr[i],ncol=nc[i] ... } where "%i%"

checkS3methods() change
Hi, I'm using rw2000dev.exe (Win32) built on August 14. If this isn't already planned, can I suggest that when checkS3methods() (called by R CMD check) fails because of a syntax error in a dependent package listed in the DESCRIPTION file of the main package being checked, it would be nice if checkS3methods() reported which dependent package caused it to fail? Running R CMD check on my

Blank lines in DESCRIPTION
Dear R-devel list, I would like to enquire about the existence of blank lines in the DESCRIPTION file. Testing different possibilities with tools:::.read_description suggests that starting or ending with blank lines is acceptable while blank lines in the middle of the file get caught by out <- tryCatch(read.dcf(dfile, keep.white = .keep_white_description_fields), error = function(e)

Diffrerence in "%in%" function to boundry setting via <>
Hi, There is a point which is irritating me currently quite a bit and that is an aspect of different behaviour between the %in% function and the smaller/bigger than signs (<>). Here is are two examples to demonstrate what I mean: Example1: > c(1,1,2,2,3,4,4,6,7) %in% c(1,2,3) [1] TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE Right, that is what I expect. Example2: > ps

Collade doesn't work for more than 256 files!
Last week I managed to automatically wrap over 600 C++ classes into R in less than 24 hours. It was not because I am an expert in R programming, it was simply because I wrapped the classes as S3. Not only the wrapping process was easy, but also installation process and loading the final library was fast too. Now I am also trying to do the wrapping into the 'modern' S4 classes. This

Packaging
I'm in the process of porting a set of routines from S to R (the 'asypow' package) and have struck one or two problems that I've been unable to clear up with the documentation I have. I may simply need a pointer to the right docs. I managed to get the code to run with minimal changes, but in order to get it to load using library(), had to run it through: R CMD build ... and

The ByteCompile & LazyLoading fields
Hi, In the DESCRIPTION file the ByteCompile and LazyLoading arguments appear to accept any value. >From the manual the field should be a "logical field". However, authors interpret this in a variety of ways: unique(tools::CRAN_package_db()$ByteCompile) # [1] NA "TRUE" "yes" "true" "Yes" "no" #

possible bug in R CMD Rd2pdf
Sorry for the noise. I assumed I could run this in the same directory as R CMD check. If I cd into the package dir, and run it like R CMD Rd2pdf man it works. I was a bit sleep deprived yesterday. The fact that the output starts by Hmm ... looks like a package threw me off. That output suggests it should work, I think. So I would suggests either 1) handling both package and man directories

power and sample size for a GLM with poisson response variable
Hi all, I would like to estimate power and necessary sample size for a GLM with a response variable that has a poisson distribution. Do you have any suggestions for how I can do this in R? RGui Titlebar
In the windows version (RGui), is there a way to set the text displayed in the titlebar of the R window? When I have 2 instances of RGui running, it would be helpul if the titlebar could help to understand which is which. -- Erich Neuwirth, Computer Supported Didactics Working Group Visit our SunSITE at http://sunsite.univie.ac.at Phone: +43-1-4277-38624 Fax: +43-1-4277-9386
