Missing 'getGroupMembers()'
Hi, I'm trying to write a method such that my own classes can be used with the groups like "Summary" and "Math", but when I tried to look for examples or just wanted to get an idea of which functions are the members of a group, I found out that the function "getGroupMembers" is not present... I couldn't find an alternative function, if there is one. Does

problem with setGroupGeneric from package methods
Hi, There seems to be a problem with setGroupGeneric() from package 'methods'. The symptoms are somewhat erratic, in the sense that small changes may lead to any of the following behaviours. 1.Package works without problems on Windows and installs on Linux but gives error when loaded with library(). 2.Package installs on both systems and gives error when loaded on any of them. 3.

Tidiest way of modifying S4 classes?
I wish to make modifications to the plot.pedigree function in the kinship package. My attempts to contact the maintainer have been unsuccessful, but my question is general, so specifics of the kinship package might not be an issue. My first attempt was to make a new function Plot.pedigree in the .GlobalEnv which mostly achieved what I wanted to. However, I'm sure that's not the tidiest

issue with base:::namespaceImportMethods
Hi, I've noticed an issue with S4 methods and namespaces which only arises in particular, difficult to reproduce configurations. One example is the ggbio package in Bioconductor, which currently emits these warnings when its namespace is loaded: ---------------------- library(ggbio) Loading required package: ggplot2 Attaching package: ‘ggbio’ The following object(s) are masked from

loading both RPostgreSQL and RSQLite leads to problems
hello, if i load the RSQLite package in addition to the RPostgreSQL package, i get various errors when trying to use RPostgreSQL functions. here is an example transcript showing one such error: ========================================================== R version 2.15.0 (2012-03-30) [...] > packageVersion('RPostgreSQL') [1] 0.3.2 > packageVersion('RSQLite') [1] 0.11.1

lme4 extracting individual variance components
Hi, For further calculations I need to extract indivdual Variances of different random effects from a fitted model. I found out how to extract the correlations (VarCorr(m1)@reSumry$group1) but I was not able to find a way to extract the other components individually. To extract the Residuals I tried: (ranef(m1)@ stdErr) which unfortunately did not work. Thank you very much for your help!

means by column after split
Colleagues ---------------------------------- System info: R version rw1020 on NT ESS using emacs ver. 20.4 ---------------------------------- I need to get the means for each column of a dataframe in the list created by splitting a data frame. At present, I am getting the mean of all columns in aggregate. The structure of the unsplit data is: > shuttle.tr1[1:10,] juliandate

[RFC] Updating googletest to non-release tagged version
Thanks. The motivating example can be seen in this review: https://reviews.llvm.org/D44382. In that review, I am unit testing .debug_line parsing, specifically, the behaviour when the parser is fed a malformed section. Most of the code under test goes through some slight variations in the code path, depending on a) the DWARF version (interesting cases are 3, 4 and 5), and b) whether the DWARF is

[LLVMdev] Boost Support
I've been doing some experiments with the Boost Graph Library (BGL) and interfacing to llvm's GraphWriter system. I'm using GBL for some custom work and needed a way to hook BGL's write_graphviz into GraphWriter to use the existing display infrastructure. To do this I added a HAVE_BOOST configure item and #ifdef'd the Boost support code in GraphWriter. Is this useful to

S4 classes?
The following example, extracted from pp. 38-42 of Chambers (1998) Programming with Data (Springer), works for me in S-Plus 6.2 but not R 1.9.0pat, which returns the indicated error messages: > setClass('track', representation(x="numeric", y="numeric")) [1] "track" > tr1 <- new("track", x=1:3, y=4:6) > setMethod("plot", +

Spa3k and ISDN
Hello all, I have an ISDN termination box (TR1) that converts ISDN(Bri) to 2 normal analogue lines. The same number is assigned to these lines. These lines are connected to 2 spa3k registered to my asterisk box. When calls arrive, TR1 try to pass call to the first spa. If spa not takes the call immediately then try to pass to the other spa. The only configuration I found works is to put the

CXX_STD and configure.ac in packages
In C++ code for use in a R-3.1.0 package, my specific problem is that I would like to use <unordered_map> if it is available, or <tr1/unordered_map> if not, or <map> if all else fails. I (think I) can accomplish this with configure.ac as AC_INIT("DESCRIPTION") CXX=`"${R_HOME}/bin/R" CMD config CXX` CXXFLAGS=`"${R_HOME}/bin/R" CMD config

Pasting a list of parameters into a function
I need to repeat a function many times, with differing parameters held constant across iterations. To accomplish this, I would like to create a list (or vector) of parameters, and then insert that list into the function. For example: q<-("l,a,b,s") genericfunction<-function(q){ } ###### The equivalent code would of course be genericfunction<-function(l,a,b,s){ } Any help

Packages, generics, S3 and S4
My question has two parts. The first is with regard to the frame or environment in which generic functions are defined in packages. It seems as though they are defined (i.e. exist as objects) in frame 1, even when defined in a package. The following is a short example: setClass("track",representation(x="numeric",y="numeric")) plotTrack <- function(x,y,...)
