problems with tcltk in R 2.0.1 (PR#7698)
Full_Name: Vidar Hjellvik Version: 2.0.1 OS: windows Submission from: (NULL) (82.134.28.194) I have an tcltk application that runs without problems in R1.9.1, but when I press the "run"-button (and other buttons as well) in R2.0.1, I get the message: "Error in function () : can't change value of a locked binding". I have another tcltk application that runs fine on

source(file) => file becomes readonly
Hello, when I work in R, I write code in a text file that I run with the "source(filename)" command. In R2.1.1 the file is read-only while the source command is executed. This was not the case in R2.0.1. Is this a bug-fix or is it possible not to have the file read-only when executed? Best regards Vidar

using innov in arima.sim
Hello, I have used the arima.sim function to generate a lot of time series, but to day I got som results that I didn't quite understand. Generating two time series z0 and z1 as eps <- rnorm(n, sd=0.03) z0 <- arima.sim(list(ar=c(0.9)), n=n, innov=eps) and z1 <- arima.sim(list(ar=c(0.9)), n=n, sd=0.03), I would expect z0 and z1 to be qualitatively similar. However, with n=10 the

predicting from coxph with pspline
Hello. I get a bit confused by the output from the predict function when used on an object from coxph in combination with p-spline, e.g. fit <- coxph(Surv(time1, time2, status)~pspline(x), Data) predict(fit, newdata=data.frame(x=1:2)) It seems like the output is somewhat independent of the x-values to predict at. For example x=1:2 gives the same result as x=21:22. Does the result span the

Poisson and negbin gamm in mgcv - overdispersion and theta
Dear R users, I am trying to use "gamm" from package "mgcv" to model results from a mesocosm experiment. My model is of type M1 <- gamm(Resp ~ s(Day, k=8) + s(Day, by=C, k=8) + Flow + offset(LogVol), data=MyResp, correlation = corAR1(form= ~ Day|Mesocosm), family=poisson(link=log)) where the response variable is counts, offset by the

pseudo-additive seasonal decomposition
Dear All, Would anyone happen to have tips on how to do a pseudo-additive seasonal decomposition in R? I am working on a ca. 20 year monthly time series on species abundance data, with annual peaks of varying magnitude and zero abundances between the seasonal occurrences. I have tried to use the package "x12", which utilizes x12arima, but without luck so far. More specifically, I am

gamm (mgcv) interaction with linear term
Hello, I am trying to fit a gamm (package mgcv) model with a smooth term, a linear term, and an interaction between the two. The reason I am using gamm rather than gam is that there are repeated measures in time (which is the smooth term x1), so I am including an AR1 autocorrelation term. The model I have so far ended up with is of the type gamm(y ~ s(x1) + s(x1, by=x2), correlation =

How to support idmap_rid on Fedora Core 3?
Hello, Please forgive me if this has been discussed, I did not find any references when I searched. I'm trying to replace a W2K server with a samba member server in a single ADS domain. It seems that the Fedora rpms do not support idmap_rid so I am trying to compile from the Fedora SRPM. After following the docs for building and configuring idmap_rid I get no ADS users from `getent

Autodial
I'd like to setup an autodial that will do the following: 1. First try call my multiple SIP phones at my house - if no answer within n seconds, try my mobile phone. Alternatively call both SIP phones at home + mobile at the same time. 2. Once someone answer in step 1 (on any phone) initiate calling to a specific phone number/extension Currently I have it working except that in step 1 I can

Some files not logged when using --compare-dest. Bug?
Hi again. I just spotted another peculiarity when inspecting the rsync log. When using --compare-dest, source files that have permissions that differ from the "comparables" are not logged, unless you're using -i. Here's a testing session: $ ls -lR .: total 12 drwxr-xr-x 2 vidar users 4096 2005-03-31 14:16 cmp/ drwxr-xr-x 2 vidar users 4096 2005-03-31 14:23 dst/

scan and skip - without line breaks in the input file
Dear all, I am trying to read in big amounts of data with scan. It's only one variable, numeric values, separated by tabs,.. and it's many of them. So I was thinking that I could use the skip option and read in 100000 values at a time - but skip doesn't work, probably because I don't have line breaks in the txt file. So any value specified for skip makes the scan function jump to

read.delim problem with trailing spaces
I'm trying to read a comma delimited dataset that uses '.' for NA. I found that if the last field on a line was a missing '.' it was not read as NA, but just a '.', and the life variable was made a factor. The data looks like this, income,imr,region,oilexprt,imr80,gnp80,life Afghanistan,75,400.0,4,0,185.0,.,37.5 Algeria,400,86.3,2,1,20.5,1920,50.7

Policy routing question
Hi, I have a testing multihome setup, with the default gateway being one of the links and using policy routing to honor requests for a specific link. Everything works as expected when I request a specific IP to bind to. But if I request a specific interface things fall apart in ways that I can not explain: default gw (WORKS) ---------- rabbit@Thesaurus:~$ ping -c 1 yahoo.com PING yahoo.com

Meaning of IR inline assembly
Hello, Most of the IR language is correctly explained; but with inline assembly I feel alone at some point: define i32 @main(i32 %argc, i8** %argv) #0 { ... //some uninteresting bloat here call void asm sideeffect "outw %eax, $0", "imr,~{dirflag},~{fpsr},~{flags}"(i32 %8) #2, !srcloc !2 ret i32 0 } I reduced the above code to the offending line containing:

Meaning of IR inline assembly
Thanks, but I could not find the imr, dirflag, fpsr constraints here. Just the usual gcc/clang inline assembly constraints. Those one were of my concern, actually :) --  Alex 18.11.2015, 17:11, "David Siegel" <agnat at icloud.com>: >>  On 18.11.2015, at 16:28, AlexandreFressange via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: >> >>  I reduced the above

How can I pick a matrix from a function? (Out Product of Gradient)
Hi all, I would like to use optim() to estimate the equation by the log-likelihood function and gradient function which I had written. I try to use OPG(Out Product of Gradient) to calculate the Hessian matrix since sometime Hessian matrix is difficult to calculate. Thus I want to pick the Gradient matrix from the gradient function. Moreover, could R show the process of calculation on gradient

Can u prevent a macintosh from leaving it's of trash files on the shares?
I recently installed DAVE on two of the office Macintoshes. (running 0S9.2 and OS8.6)(DAVE is mac to windows(samba) filesharing utility) I use SAMBA from the testing version of DEBIAN. The mac's leave alot of files on the shares that i find annoying. Is there a method I could use to prevent the mac from leaving it's "trash". (filname filtering perhaps)
