ethersel.c32 issues
Hello! ethersel.c32 does not seem to work with all PCs. I have prepared a floppy that uses ethersel.c32 to load a NIC-specific file (etherboot .zlilo image). See http://etherboot.anadex.de for details. It works with every NIC and every PC I own, but not with VMWare. I know VMWare has some problems, so that did not bother me at all and I published it anyway but I have received several e-mails

Need config.h
I'm not trying to build Wine on my system, only to extract enough files so I can define my own version of an edit control -- the one built into Windows does too much in one area and not enough in another, and subclassing doesn't solve the problem. I've identified the file I need (\dlls\user32\edit.c) and can find the associated include files, however I can't find

scp with openssh on the server side and $PATH.
Hi! When I try to use scp from or to a machine that runs openssh-1.2pre16 on Debian Linux, I keep getting the error message "scp: command not found". Executing "ssh this-host echo \$PATH" yields "/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:" which might be set in config.h. sshd is installed to /usr/local/stow/openssh-1.2pre16/sbin, scp to /usr/local/stow/openssh-1.2pre16/bin;

Where is the stud.ci() function used in boot.ci()?
Hello! I am trying to duplicate the studentized bootstrap confidence interval calculations in boot.ci() without using boot.ci(). My w/o boot.ci() calculations are close to boot.ci() using the same object from implementation of boot(), but not quite the same (I think the differences are due to how quantiles are computed for z*). Through examining the boot.ci() code, I can see there is a call

FWD: enable forwarding to remote named sockets in ssh
Dear openssh developers, has the problem related to remote unix socket forwarding to a local port ever been fixed? (see message below: ssh -L 12345:/tmp/sock) I could not find any code containing the patch (maybe i am looking in the wrong places) I actually had the same problem and the feature is really handy if you are working on a windows machine. Help is apreciated. Thanks! Best

Use of nesting in lmer- error in numerical expression
Dear R users, I am trying to fit a GLMM using lmer to a dataset where the brood identity (LNRREIR) is nested within mothers identity. The reason for this is that each mother can have several nests within each year and also between years. I am running the following script (actually I have tried all different combinations with LNRREIR and mother): mod <- lmer(sr~z.hatchday +

epel-repository | repomd.xml.asc: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404
Hi. I try to install openvpn at my centos 7 server (CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core)). According to many tutorials at the internet, I was using yum install epel-release -y to enable the repo. When (after installing epel-release) I try to install openvpn using yum install openvpn -y I get this error: Geladene Plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

R-help: beginner question
Hi, I am a beginner user of R. I have a trivial question ? I am almost ashamed I cannot figure it out does not matter how many times I am reading the help. I have a table in .txt format, tab delimited. I can read it with ?read.delim()? with no problems. Afterwards I would like to use boxplot function to see if there are any outliers in the column 5 of my data called TPAH16.ppm In the

kernlab's ksvm method freeze
Hello, I am using kernlab to do some binary classification on aminoacid strings. I am using a custom kernel, so i use the kernel="matrix" option of the ksvm method. My (normalized) kernel matrix is of size 1309*1309, my results vector has the same length. I am using C-svc. My kernlab call is something similiar to this: ksvm(kernel="matrix", kernelMatrix, trainingDataYs,

Test for trend?
Hello R community, I would like to test for learning effects by subjects in my experiment. Each subject participates in six consecutive auction rounds of the same treatment. The response variable is the efficiency of an auction outcome measured by a real number. Since the efficiency increases over the six rounds, I suppose that subjects learn about the rules of the auction institution, but I

[LLVMdev] Register Spilling and SSA
Hi I just stumbled upon this paper. While i just skimmed over it it seems as if the authors say that their algorithm is more efficient than the llvm 2.3 algorithm? So i thought that might be interesting? http://pp.info.uni-karlsruhe.de/uploads/publikationen/braun09cc.pdf Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the authors and stumbled in a slightly unrelated search over this paper. Plotting symbols with two positions?
Thanks a lot to Demitris for a prompt answer some minutes ago on another tread (see below). To avoid excess mails on the list, I move onto next question: I have another small plotting problem that confuses me. I want to plot results from a field trial series, using the numbers of the trials as symbols in the plot. pch = as.character(trial_no) works fine, but truncates the trial number to the

Z aware interpolation
Hello again, There is any package which does Z aware (real 3D) interpolations? It can be any method (IDW, kriging or spline) but it should take into consideration not only x and y coordinates for interpolation, but also z coordinate. I looked into different packages but it seems i didn't find the right one. The ultimate goal is to import the output into a GIS (Geographical Information
