Follow Up - Centos / Red Hat EL Broken 5.4 + 5.5, ** Alternative solution **
To the list:
1) Someone off the list (thanks!) offered to send me an RT kernel based
on 2.6.23.X. So I thought why not try to build a standard / server type
based on the standard 2.6.23 version.
2) Red Hat 6 Beta 2 is based on a similar starting point
3) I was not going to fix something Red Hat broke. They responded to me
that they only support the configuration of the generic binary they

Getting a list of transferred/deleted items
Hello,
As far as I can see there's no option to get a list of files/directories/
whatever that have been transferred. This is not exactly the same as the
--verbose output for two reasons: At first the -v output has been
sanitized to avoid terminal confusion, second this might be hard to
parse since it contains other information, too (nitpicking: Does
"deleting foo" mean that the

saslauthd attack
I'm seeing a lot of activity over the last two days with what looks to
be a kiddie script. Mostly trying to access several of our servers with
the username anna. All failed... in fact I don't think we have a user
anna on any of our servers. Meanwhile...
I'm running Sendmail. This pertains to Centos 4 and 5 servers. I'm also
running fail2ban on some and Ossec on others. So far,

"A device attached to the system is not functioning"
Hello,
Samba 3.0.2a, Debian linux, 2.6.x kernel, PDC server, WinXP clients.
When I try to log in on a XP client I get this message:
"A device attached to the system is not functioning"
I have tried google'ing for the error, but to no avail.
I have earlier created a user (anna), which can successfully log in from
my laptop. When I try to log in with anna on my workstation, I

Bizarre bug
Hi there,
I'm running Debian 3.0, Samba version 3.0.0-Debian, on a dual-k7 system.
I have set up Samba and Winbind, and joined my samba server (called
"anna") to our domain. wbinfo -u returns me a list of users in the
domain. kinit allows me to fetch kerberos tickets, and smbclient -k
//pds/sharename connects just fine.
When I try to connect to the samba server from the PDC (or

indexing into a list 2
I didn't explain myself well.
You are right about not needing a list on the right hand side of the equation
below. What I end up with is a list of arrays. Now what i would like to do
is to access the individual elements in the arrays in the list. For example,
when I type, y[[1]], I just get the whole first array. How do I get the
first element in the first array for instance? Is

Rearranging variables in table in non-alphabetical (manually specified) order
Dear all,
I'm trying to rearrange variables in a table in a custum order for using it with levelplot. So far I could only find examples showing how to sort alphabetically. Here is a short example:?

lattice, latticeExtra: Adding moving averages to double y plot
Hi lattice users,
I would like to add 5-year moving averages to my double y-plot. I have three factors needs to be plotted with moving averages in the same plot. One of these reads off y-axis 1 and two from y-axis 2. I have tried to use the rollmean function from the zoo-packages, but I fail in insering this into lattice (I am not an experienced lattice user). I want to keep the data points in
