Installing gregmisc under windows 2000
If I'm not mistaken, "bundle" is really only useful as a concept for
distribution and installation. You distribute and install a bundle, but
load the individual packages when you want to use them. Once you install
the bundle, you won't see the name of the bundle in the list of installed
packages, but you see the constituent packages, and those are what you load
when you want to

Wishlist- Windows Gui (PR#10589)

Submission from: (NULL) (198.209.172.95)
It would be wonderful if the CRAN mirror had an easy way to set a "default CRAN
mirror".
Current behavior is to have to choose a CRAN mirror the first time a package is
installed in a session. The closest mirror site is always the same for me, and
I wouldn't wish to change it unless it

prop.test confidence intervals (PR#2794)
Full_Name: Robert W. Baer, Ph.D.
Version: 1.6.2
OS: Windows 2000
Submission from: (NULL) (198.209.172.106)
Problem: prop.test() does not seem to produce appropriate confidence intervals
for the case where the vector length of x and n is one. (I am not certain about
higher vector lengths.)
As an example, I include x=6 and n=42 which has a mean proportion of 0.115.
When I calculate the 95% CI

. Possible issue with R-tools on Windows
I encountered this issue a couple of months ago and resolved it by installing Rtools in the default directory
C:\Rtools, see below for details. I didn't have time to prepare a proper error report and in fact suspected that I may be messing up something.
I tracked down the error by installing from the command line, rather than with install.packages().
On Windows I keep multiple versions of

Hi,
Rgui causes a page fault when asking for lattice graphics after setting
par(ask=TRUE). This doesn't happen in 1.6.2, but does in 1.7.0.

A very minor bug, but here it comes. On doing something as simple as cat("1st
test string\r2nd\n") the console in RGui on Windows do not perform a CR on '\r'.
This is very annoying if you for example want to have a simple progress meter
when running a batch job. It works

(PR#1229) RGui/R Console crashes when entering illegal
This is answered in the rw-FAQ, Q2.12! It is not a problem with R, but
with your installation of Windows.
*PLEASE* do not report FAQs as bugs: it a complete waste of the
developers' time.

Rgui open script file selection filter wish
When using the File/Open Script.. dialogue on Windows, the list of filters
offered is
R files (*.R)
S files (*.q,*.ssc,*.S)
All files (*.*)
I wish that an additional filter be offered as
Sweave files (*.Rnw,*.Snw)
I find that the Rgui script editor is adequate for most of my R development
and tend to edit *.Rnw files there.

Similarly for flag=[SnZ].

This is not a bug in R. Please read the FAQs!
You have got a version of tripack that has been compiled for R < 2.4.0.
Please type
update.packages(checkBuilt = TRUE)
and try again.

In Rgui when attempting to resize the console the system locks for a second

crashing or just crashes when we start moving again (the former happens more
often when making things bigger, the latter when the console is
