S3 generics without NS and cleanEx()
Good morning, we recently observed a problem with importing S3 generics from a foreign package (without namespace), defining a S3 method in a package _with_ namespace and the `cleanEx()' function which is automatically generated and executed before examples are run by R CMD check. To be more precise. Package `strucchange' defines a S3 generic sctest <- function(x, ...)

make check fails tools-Ex in 2.5.0
Hi folks, I'm attempting to compile and install 2.5.0, and "make check" is failing one of the earlier sanity tests. I'll append the relevant portion of the Rout.fail file below, but I've narrowed it down manually to a single command: > sessionInfo() R version 2.5.0 (2007-04-23) x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu locale:

Strange error in R CMD check --timings
This SO post: https://stackoverflow.com/q/76583828 describes a strange R CMD check error. timings for examples in R CMD check
I'm having a very hard time making R CMD check produce a clean check on examples because of the timings inserted into examples by R CMD check. I am getting a difference on every example output caused by timing information being inserted by 'R CMD check'. The current 'Writing R Extensions' manual[1] states on p. 14: If directory tests has a subdirectory Examples

R CMD check: "T used instead of TRUE"
Hello everybody, I am just trying to put together my first own CRAN-able package. I have completed the programming and my code works OK. But now when I perform R CMD check agsemisc_1.0-2.tar.gz and R gets to the step * checking examples ... I receive the following error message: > print(bwplot(Species~Sepal.Length, data=iris, panel=panel.bwstrip)) Error in rep(T, length(x)) : T used

Dispatch issue in package check?
Dear useRs, I am developing a package using RStudio and roxygen markup files. I have run into a problem while checking. The relevant function is a generic S3 statistical function modeled on t.test(), with methods. It returns an object of class "htest" etc. Here Is the (anonymized) relevant code: <...> #' @examples #' foo(c(5,4,6,5,7,9,8,11,12,10),

delay() has been deprecated for 2.1.0
After a bunch of discussion in the core group, we have decided to deprecate the delay() function (which was introduced as "experimental" in R 0.50). This is the function that duplicates in R code the delayed evaluation mechanism (the promise) that's used in evaluating function arguments. The problem with delay() was that it was handled inconsistently (e.g. sometimes you would see

make check fails after building R 2.1.0 on Fedora Core 3
I have R v2.0.1 already running on the machine in question; a fairly generic Fedora Core 3 machine. I am trying to build the new version 2.1.0 and have not been able to troubleshoot the problem I encountered. I'm hoping someone else has seen it and can suggest a troubleshooting avenue to me. The build succeeds, both from the source RPM and from the tarball. I believed I had all the build

smoothScatter() and the KernSmooth package
Dear R-devel, my Bioconductor EDASeq package has a function MDPlot that uses the smoothScatter() function from the graphics package. When I test this package on travis-ci.org (R CMD check) I get the following error (which I don't get on my machine nor on the Bioconductor build system). * checking examples ... winbuilder warnings and errors
Hello, I have been developing a package for phylogenetic analysis which I plan to submit to CRAN soon. It passes R CMD check with no warnings on my linux and Mac OS X machines. I don't have much experience with Windows and have been using the win-builder service to see how the package compiles on Windows. (Thank you for this service, Uwe, it is a huge time saver for me!) I have tried

package building problem Centos 7 & R 3.4.1
Dear everybody: Packages that DO pass the package check on my Ubuntu 17.04 laptop with R 3.4.1 and Mac OSX do not build on Centos 7 with R 3.4.1. I'm pretty sure I have an environment defect, but cannot find it. I find posts from various people about this problem since 2012. But I've checked the likely suspects. Among all the runs I pasted in below, the most informative error message I

troubles with R CMD check and examples under Ubuntu gutsy
Dear listers, I was used to package pgirmess under Windows with everything OK, but, for the first time, I had a trial this afternoon on Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy (I have a double boot computer and work more and more under unix) and R 2.7.0. R Performance on P-4 RE: P-4
Is this still an issue to this community? If so, and results, I may pick this up. Intel does have C++ and Fortran compilers. You might see a compiler among the list under the links http://cedar.intel.com/cgi-bin/ids.dll/topic.jsp?catCode=BON. Evaluation licenses are available at http://developer.intel.com/software/products/compilers/ If they are promising, perhaps binaries could at least be

.Fortran interface error
Hi all, I'm preparing a package which uses .Fortran to interface a Fortran 95 function. This F95 function simply receives the name of a file from R, opens this file and forwards its content to a F95 module, which, in turn, makes the real computation. The F95 module is a pre-existing one and I'm trying to use it in its actual state. Thus, data transfer between R and this F95 module is
