Oddity with kernel built under CentOS 5.0
Yesterday I found a need to have the NTFS module support in my CentOS
5.0 at home, so I happily installed the 8.1.4 source, prepped it
(after deleting the rhel and olpc lines per Johnny's notice earlier in
this list), made the config with a ".nx" version name using make
menuconfig (copying the config from the SOURCES directory, editing it
to include the # x86_64 line and copying it

recompiling kernel results in error: .../linux-2.6.18.i686/arch//Makefile: No such file or directory
I have installed CentOS 5 with all updates. Also I have 2 ne2000 isa cards.
In recompiling the kernel, I have been trying to follow the instructions on this URL:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Custom_Kernel
The complete error message I get is:
Makefile:403: /home/cs/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.18/linux-2.6.18.i686/arch//Makefile: No such file or directory

Still having problems with xen guest boot
I don''t know what has happened because know I can''t even get this guest
booting. The guest conf I think is correct:

builder=''linux''
memory = 384
name = "ns1"
vcpus = 1

zaptel compile question
Hi all,
I am wanting to use an option from the ./configure script with zaptel to
compile zaptel for a different kernel than the running kernel.
How do I do that exactly.
Example:
Current kernel is 2.6.18-8.1.4.el5
and I want to compile zaptel for 2.6.18-53.1.4.el5
I am using centos 5.1 or RHEL 5.1
So when I reboot zaptel is ready to go. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Jerry

Problem getting lvm to work
Hi,
I have problems getting lvm to work on my domU. The dom0 is a CentOS 5
installed on lvm. I''ve added two extra lv, one for root and one for
swap.

Re: Xen and PAE
I thought this might be of interest to the list. I am only running Xen
on amd64, so I am not sure how intelligently I can help out. Probably
best to CC urs, since I don't imagine he is subscribed to the list.

CentOS-5 - kmod-gfs dependency issue?
Hi all,
I'm wondering if I'm running into some dependency issues on my CentOS5
test-machines. I've installed with a fairly minimal package set,
updated, removed old kernels and am now experimenting with iscsi and gfs.
I think I need kmod-gfs to get gfs -support, but there is only a version
that suits the base-kernel, 2.6.18-8.el5.

scim-panel-gtk segfault (2)
Hello,
Here's more info on the problem below:
newer scim packages scim-1.4.6-5.fc8 (fc8) do fix a segfault:
* Fri Nov 17 2006 Shawn Huang <phuang at redhat.com> - 1.4.5-2
- add scim-fix-unload-segfault.patch to fix xim process segfaulting
when already running (#206995)
Could that be the issue?
