isolinux bin and Xen.gz kernel
Note: I appologize ahead of time if this posted twice. I did not see
the original post and I'm not sure that it was plain text.
I have RedHat Linux 5 with a xen.gz kernel.
I generate my recorvery Cd using isolinux.bin. When booting from it,
which has worked when generated on RH 4 and earlier, I get the
following error:

C5 i386 kernel-debuginfo-common-2.6.18-8.1.3.el5.i686.rpm from vault
Is anyone else having trouble getting some RPMs from vault? When I navigate to
http://vault.centos.org/debuginfo/5/i386/
...and try to click on (e.g.) kernel-PAE-debuginfo-2.6.18-8.1.3.el5.i686.rpm I
get 404 errors (The requested URL /debuginfo/5/i386/kernel-PAE-debuginfo-2.6.18
-8.1.3.el5.i686.rpm was not found on this server). But then if I wait a while
and try again, maybe I get it.

[slightly-OT] postgresql 8.1.3 on intel OS X problems
Hi,
Anybody have success with postgresql 8.1.3 on a new Intel OS X box? All
hints welcome, please!
I installed postgres 8.1.3 via darwinports, and everything is great
until the initdb step.
Initdb fails on shmget saying it couldn''t allocate enough memory (see
below). So, I edited /etc/rc and increased kern.sysv.shmmax from
4194304 to 41943040 (4MB to 40MB)
After reboot and

Centos kernel does not boot, redhat does (i2o raid controller problem)
Hi,
following system:
Dell PE2650, 2 2.4ghz Xeon, 1gb ram, Dell Perc4DC Controller
It has EL5 installed, but I wanted to change to Centos because of the
missing workstation packages in the entry server repository.
The system was redhat up2date until yesterday, so the latest kernel was
missing.
I changed redhat-release to centos-release packages and the new centos
kernel was installed the via

Postgresql 8.1.x on CentOS 3.6
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if there are any Postgresql 8.1.3 RPMs for CentOS 3.6?
I've looked at the Postgresql website but I couldn't find anything
under RHEL3/CentOS3. I've tried installing the RHEL4 RPMs which seem
to work. Unfortunately, I'm getting errors whenever I try to compile
PHP5 from source.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Matt

CentOS 5 updates
Hello,
I've noticed that there haven't been any updates to
centos-announce (or in Yum) for CentOS 5 since January 6th (that might
be the 5th for a lot of you, I'm at +11:00 UTC). Since then, however,
Red Hat have released the following updates for RHEL 5:
Critical:

Can't start X with latest CentOS 50. kernel
Nvidia driver for 6200 LE video card.
No problems with CentOS 4.5. When installed (not upgraded) 5.0 X would
not start. X works fine with 2.6.18-8.1.3.el5 but only with xorg.conf
as written for 4.5
Haven't seen traffic regarding this problem. Has anyone else seen this?
Thanks,
Dick

Today's log - yum entries
Hi list,
I have the following entries, below, in today's log file (for yesterday,
10th May).
I don't run the automated yum-updated and didn't run a yum update
yesterday, and no packages were installed. Obviously the entries are old.
I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation?
Thanks,
Ned

Changing column to NOT NULL with migration silently failing.
Hi
I''ve created a migration called
make_customer_type_id_not_null_for_customers. The migration .rb file
looks like this:
class MakeCustomerTypeIdNotNullForCustomers < ActiveRecord::Migration
def self.up
change_column(:customers, :customer_type_id, :integer, { :null => false })
end
def self.down

The weak exogeneity test in R for the Error Correction Model?
Hello all,
I would like to carry out a single-equation approach of the Error Correction Model such as
Delta_y(t) = a + b*y(t-1) + c*x1(t-1) + d*x2(t-1) + e*delta_x1(t) + f*delta_x2(t) + epsilon(t)
Where, a, b, c, d, e, f are coefficients to be estimated, y is the dependent variable, and x1, x2 are independent variables.
For the single equation approach of ECM, there is a requirement of the
