Windows, RCMD INSTALL and path (PR#939)
Full_Name: David Firth Version: 1.2.3 OS: Windows NT4 Submission from: (NULL) (163.1.103.107) Two things that look like bugs: 1. RCMD INSTALL does not seem to cope with quotes in the Windows path. With my path set to PATH="C:\R\Rtools";"C:\R\rw1023\bin";C:\Perl\bin\;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\ mingw2\bin I get, for example, C:\R>RCMD INSTALL boot RCMD

About building R1.6.1 on Cygwin
Hello. For building REmbeddedPostgres in Omegat project(http://www.omegahat.org/RSPostgres/) requiring PostgresSQL's libs, I've tried to build R1.6.1 on Cygwin following the instruction of http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/Rtools/ since full-spec PostgresSQL running on Windows can run only on Cygwin environment, However I've got following error messages. make -C front-ends Rpwd

Problems encountered/fixed making CrossCompileBuild
Dear All: I encountered and apparently overcame problems following Yan and Rossini?s procedure for "Building Microsoft Windows Versions of R and R packages under Intel Linux" (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/contrib/cross-build.pdf): I have successfully cross-compiled R packages for Windows on a FreeBSD 4.10 i386 system. My revisions to Makefile-rcb (http://cran.r-

Problems linking against libvorbis.a with GnuWin32
I'm trying to link against libvorbis.a using GnuWin32 without the Cygwin layer (that is, Mingw32). Unfortunately the linker complains about a missing function: rint(). This function is used a couple of times in libvorbis and as far as I understand this is a standard C library function. My problem is, that I cannot find rint() in any of the common DLLs nor do I know how MSVC resolves this

Creating libraries: Cannot make help
Hi all I am trying to package a library in R 1.6.1 (Windoze XP). I have read the document "Writing R extensions" and think I have done things correctly (though apparently not). I have searched the mail archives for help to no avail. I also posted a few days ago and thanks to Peter Dalgaard I have managed to focus my search for errors. I am trying to create a library in R. Problems with some components of R
Madam, Sir, I have downloaded and transfered to my P.C (Window 98) the version of R which has been split on purpose, that is to say the rw0990b1.zip ,rw0990b2.zip ,etc files. I encountered no problem as far as the installation is concerned. But when I try to run some function ,for instance loess, it issued an error message stating that an underlying Fortran program is not properly loaded.

non-digits in svnversion output mess up windows build if USE_SVNVERSION=yes (PR#11339)
Full_Name: Bill Dunlap Version: 2.8.0dev OS: Windows XP Submission from: (NULL) (70.98.76.47) I tried for the first time to build R from source on Windows, where I got the source code via svn. Per the Installation and Administration manual, I altered src\gnuwin32\MkRules so it had the the locally correct paths to HTML Help Workshop and Inno Setup 5. I also set USE_SVNVERSION=yes, as suggested

OK thanks (I added main() {} as per FAQ and I got the dynload to build a dll ok) I am also interested in building the R sources as per your descriptions. To simplify things, I have removed b18 cygwin and have now installed egcs-mingw32 with your djtools as recommended. Everything seems to work OK; tools that

rw1020 Rcmd INSTALL path\ deletes rw1020\library\* (PR#789)
The trailing backslash seems to be the culprit. After looking at rw1020\bin\INSTALL, I noticed $pkg =~ s/\/$//; which I assume is to strip the trailing slash from a package name before obtaining the package name and cleaning out its directory I added $pkg =~ s/\\$//; immediately after this line. Rerunning Rcmd INSTALL C:\rw1011\src\library\bqtl\ with that change seemed to work OK

R-0.65.1 is released
I've rolled up R-0.65.1.tgz a moment ago. As usual, you shouldn't get it from Auckland, but wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site near you within a day or two. For those who are too curious to wait, I'll put a copy in ftp://blueberry.kubism.ku.dk/pub/R-devel/R-0.65.1.tgz There's also a version split in two for floppies and a patch file if you prefer that. I was trying to learn cross building an R pcakage for windows on my linux machine. I picked a relatively small library gee to test. Dear R-help, (This is the first time I tried compiling 1.6.x from source on WinNT4, so please bear with me...) I'm using pcre-3.9 and MinGW-2.0.0-3. I checked and libRpcre.a _is_ in src/extra/pcre. TIA, Andy ... gcc

R INSTALL *.tgz fails (minor docs/feature bug) (PR#652)
R Team, I was attempting to install Lindsey's rmutil.tgz and other non-CRAN packages using 'R INSTALL', for example 'R INSTALL rmutil.tgz' after downloading 'rmutil.tgz' from Lindsey's page (as linked from r-project.org page). Directly using the compressed file as 'R INSTALL rmutil.tgz' failed, though the shell help from 'R INSTALL --help'
