Heimdal Version Question
We would like to build a SuSE Professional 8.2 box as a Domain Member Server
in a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain, and we are referencing Chapter
9.3.3 of Samba3-By-Example.
The version of heimdal supplied with SuSE 8.2 is 0.4e. S3BE references
heimdal version 0.6 plus patches.
Since SuSE often backports fixes from later versions of products into older
versions, the question is: will

failed login, NT_STATUS_PASSWORD_MUST_CHANGE
Hi,
I am unable to login to a samba system that uses
kerberos to authenticate to ADS if the users password
has expired on the ADS system or if "User must change
password at next login" is checked on the ADS.. I get
a "login incorrect" message on the linux system and
the log file gives the following error:
pam_winbind[3647]: request failed: Must change

SAMBA 3.0 joining Domain fails with SuSE rpm's
Hello,
I'm not sure if it's a bug - or I'm just too stupid..!?
Downloaded the Samba beta-code from ftp.suse.com/gd - rpm's for SuSE 8.2 (03/06/22). Installed all packages with no problems - samba works well, but integration in a W2K Domain fails. Kinit is successful but joining a domain brings up the following errors.

odesolve: lsoda vs rk4
I'm trying to use odesolve for integrating various series of coupled 1st
order differential equations (derived from a system of enzymatic
catalysis and copied below, apologies for the excessively long set of
parameters).
The thing that confuses me is that, whilst I can run the function rk4:
out <- rk4(y=y,times=times,func=func, parms=parms)
and the results look not unreasonable:

Our server was functioning very well for several months. Our SAN crapped

SAMBA is acting crazy.
I am looking at the logs and I am getting

Your password expires today problem
Hi,
I currently migrate an existant earlier SAMBA (Version 2.2.9) / OpenLDAP
(slapd 2.2.26) configuration to SAMBA (Version 3.0.25b-0.4E.6) /
OpenLDAP (slapd 2.4.11).
To preserve the compatibility with my schema.v2, my new smb.conf now
contains :
passdb backend = ldapsam_compat:ldap://w.x.y.z:389
(where w.x.y.z is the ldap server)
Simultaneously, for same reason, i kept uncommented the

samba 3.0.0 - winbind kerbros tickets expired
Hi everyone!
I have set up a SAMBA 3.0.0 Server on SLES8. The Server is a member of a W2K domain. The users are mapped with winbind. Everything is working fine ? but only for 10 hours. Now I found out that the standard ticket lifetime for Kerberos tickets in windows is 10hours. In the samba log there are lines like:
user ?testuser? does not exist.
I think when the tickers are expired they are

DLSODA error
Dear R-users,
I'm running an MLE procedure where some ODEs are solved for each iteration
in the maximization process. I use mle2 for the Maximum likelihood and
deSolve for the ODEs.
The problem is that somewhere along the way the ODE solver crashes and I get
the following error message:
DLSODA- Warning..Internal T (=R1) and H (=R2)
