patch to add a menu item in Rgui for RSiteSearch
Please consider adding the following to the next R release (I understand that it's too late for R-2.1.0). It adds the menu item `Search R Site' in the `Help' menu in Rgui (which calls RSiteSearch() on the input string). OOP and passing by value
Greetings, I love the R system and am sincerely grateful for the great effort the product and contributors are delivering. My question is as follows: I am trying to use S4 style classes but cannot write functions that modify an object because paramter passing is by value. For example I want to do this: setGeneric("setData", function(this,fcn,k){ standardGeneric("setData")

Windows Only: winMenuAdd() problem
Folks: I don't know whether the following is a Windows or R problem, nor whether it is particular to my particular Windows version/setup. So any help would be appreciated. First the problem, then the info. The following code can be cut and pasted into your R session ############################# ### start R ### create a plot on device 2 (which can be determined by dev.cur()) plot(1:10)

[PATCH 2/5] Xen/MCE: vMCE injection
Xen/MCE: vMCE injection In our test for win8 guest mce, we find a bug that no matter what SRAO/SRAR error xen inject to win8 guest, it always reboot. The root cause is, current Xen vMCE logic inject vMCE# only to vcpu0, this is not correct for Intel MCE (Under Intel arch, h/w generate MCE# to all CPUs). This patch fix vMCE injection bug, injecting vMCE# to all vcpus. Signed-off-by: Liu,

[PATCH 3/10] I386 mcheck p4 grotesque and needless warning fix.patch
No, just no. You do not use goto to skip a code block. You do not return an obvious variable from a singly-inlined function and give the function a return value. You don't put unexplained comments about kmalloc in code which doesn't do dynamic allocation. And you don't leave stray warnings around for no good reason. Also, when possible, it is better to use block scoped variables

SHELL() function Asterisk 13 - can only accept one paramter in string?
Hi all This is a followup on my post "Asterisk 13 - system() dialplan app cannot call bash scripts" from yesterday I've given up trying to use system() to call BASH scripts with parameters from Asterisk 13. Turned out under Asterisk 13.22.0 System() DOES work, but only if you do NOT attempt to pass any parameters to the called script. This works, and reliably calls the script:

[PATCH] x86/mce: Use MCG_CAP MSR to find out number of banks on AMD
Currently number of error reporting register banks is hardcoded to 6 on AMD processors. This may break in virtualized scenarios when a hypervisor prefers to report fewer banks that the physical HW provides. Since number of supported banks is reported in MSR_IA32_MCG_CAP[7:0] that''s what we should use. Signed-off-by: Boris Ostrovsky <boris.ostrovsky@oracle.com> ---

[PATCH] Xen/MCE: stick all 1's to MCi_CTL of vMCE
Jan, This patch just used to stick all 1''s to MCi_CTL, it should not involve much argue, so I sent it separately. Thanks, Jinsong ==================== Xen/MCE: stick all 1''s to MCi_CTL of vMCE This patch is a middle-work patch, prepare for future new vMCE model. It remove mci_ctl array, and keep MCi_CTL all 1''s. Signed-off-by: Liu, Jinsong

SWIG exceptions
I was trying to fix the problem with wxImage and the char */unsigned char * thing today and I was going to hand-write the functions to translate between the two. While doing so I decided I''d clean up the SWIG error message to make it more clear. Here''s an example SWIG-generated argument error: in method SetData'', argument 2 of type ''wxImage *''

Going back to classic menu from vesamenu.c32
I'm currently building a tree-like boot menu for my network, using pxelinux and vesamenu.c32. I jump from one page to another with "kernel vesamenu.c32" and "append newmenu". However, at some points I'd like to use the classic interface, for example with a distribution install image (in order to have the exact same interface as on the CD). I tried loading pxelinux.0

Constraint on one of parameters.
Dear all, I have a function to optimize for a set of parameters and want to set a constraint on only one parameter. Here is my function. What I want to do is estimate the parameters of a bivariate normal distribution where the correlation has to be between -1 and 1. Would you please advise how to revise it? ex=function(s,prob,theta1,theta,xa,xb,xc,xd,t,delta) { expo1=

unable to call R t-test from Java
Hello, My colleague and I would like to write Java code that invokes R to do a simple TTest. I've included my sample java code below. I tried various alternatives and am unable to pass a vector to the TTest method. In my investigation, I tried to call other R methods that take vectors and also ran into various degrees of failure. Any insight you can provide or other Web references you

plot(x,y) core dump
Dear R Development Team, I compile R-1.9.1 on AIX 5.2 under 2.9-aix51-020209, and xlf 7.1. In order to let R compile successfully under gcc 2.9, I have to change one C statement of file(RHOME//src/modules/X11/devX11.c) line 1768 from "retrun FALSE" to "retrun NULL", following is C code snapshot: newX11Desc * Rf_allocNewX11DeviceDesc(double ps) { newX11Desc *xd;

eval functions... (PR#668)
Full_Name: Anantha Prasad Version: 1.1.1 OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (199.131.134.30) I am trying to convert some S-PLUS code to R (a tcl/tk application that uses R)... here is the error I got in R (but not in S-PLUS)...so I am wondering if it is a bug. Eg., the foll. extract from a function runs fine in S-PLUS but gives the error: Error in x[[j]] : subscript out of bounds in R code

Alternative to extended recode sintax?
Dear R-users, I have a factor variable within my data frame which I derive week after week from a POSIXct variable using the cut(var,"weeks") command I have found in the chron package. The levels() command gives me: [1] "2009-03-30 00:00:00" "2009-04-06 00:00:00" "2009-04-13 00:00:00" "2009-04-20 00:00:00" "2009-04-27 00:00:00"

[PATCH 0 of 7] lguest host code
These seven patches replace [PATCH 6/10], or in the second send, patches 6a. 6b, 6c and 6d. There are more patches because Andi hassled me about extern decls, so I had to expose some things. Tiny patches, but worth separating because you never know when such changes will break something. Compiles and runs here... Thanks, Rusty.
