Installation help
Hello,
I am trying to compile R using the Sun WorkShop 6.0 (Forte) compilers.
I don't think I am having a problem with the compilers, but instead with
figuring out how to modify the R configuration to use non-Gnu compilers.
I found in your documentation that one should modify the config.site
file
to change compilers, compiler flags, library paths, etc. I made
modifications

classification table in logistic regression
Prof. Harrell,
My name is Armida Carbajal, I'm a graduate student intern at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and am conducting some research for my thesis project at the University of New Mexico in Statistics for SNL.
My project entails a logistic regression and I wanted to create a classification table like the one found in SAS using the function CTABLE. I was running out of ideas on

Installing Packages
Hi.. I am using R as a user, another group built everything I am using. But I need to install some packages and my only internet access is via a web-proxy. I have hunted though the docs and I'm not finding anything on setting a proxy in the package install command. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Cross Realm Support
I am doing some testing in Samba 3.0. I am using security=ADS.
I am wondering if Samba has any support for cross-realm trust.
For example, I have one AD forest SANDIA.GOV that has trust with
SANDIA2.GOV. I have the Samba server on linux.sandia2.gov. I have a local
user account on linux.sandia2.gov called user. When I log into a win2k
client as SANDIA2.GOV/user and connect, it works fine.

histogram - density on y axis and restriction to interval [0, 1]
Hello,
To indicate probability densities instead of counts on a histogram, I
specify freq = FALSE.
However, I expect that summing all top y coordinates over all the
intervals of the histogram will provide 1.

¿Cómo generar tabla apaisada salida PDF con RMarkdown?
Buenas a todos.
No me queda del todo claro si éste es el foro en el que preguntar o
debería ser otro, ya que incluye cosas que van más allá de R. Sepan
disculpar si me estoy excediendo.
Estoy trabajando con RStudio y quiero generar un documento de salida en
PDF; en ese documento tengo bastantes tablas anchas que no entran usando
knitr::kable(la.tabla.ancha)
Sí salen perfectamente en HTML

Getting the values out of histogram (lattice)
Hi,
?
I have a relatively big dataset and I want to construct
some histograms using the histogram function in lattice. One thing I am
interested in is to look at differences between density and percent. I know I can
use the hist function but it seems that this function gives sometimes some
wrong answers and the density is actually a percent since it is calculated as counts in the bin divided by

function to display histogram fails to do so when histogram is not the last expression in the function
TestHistogram_A is a function that plots a histogram, then returns 3. For
me it fails
to display the plot, at least in the order given below.
TestHistogram_B is a function that plots a histogram, then exits. The only
difference between
the 2 functions is that B does not return 3. It displays the plot.
This problem does not occur when histogram is replaced by boxplot

Histogram inset into another histogram
Dear R users and helpers,
I'm trying to find an example of a histogram plot as an inset (upper
right or left corner) of another histogram.
Anyone has an example of that?
Thanks for your help,
V?ctor.

[LLVMdev] sqlite3 crashing jit
Hello,
I'm trying to compile sqlite3 using llvm-gcc, then run it with lli. I've attached a Makefile and a main.c that simply invokes sqlite3_initialize(). You'll need to download sqlite3 (it was too big to attach) and copy main.c and the Makefile into the directory where sqlite3.c is [Link: sqlite-amalgamation-3_7_0_1.zip <http://www.sqlite.org/sqlite-amalgamation-3_7_0_1.zip>

[LLVMdev] Unknown or runtime type in function definition?
Hello all,
I'm trying to understand a bit of LLVM IR syntax. I have a function
definition which looks like this in IR:
define void @foo(%1* ptr) { ...
The C code for foo has a definition that looks like:
typedef struct bar_struct bar;
... Definition of struct bar_struct ...
void foo(bar *ptr) { ...
I can't whittle down a convenient test source file just now; but

Parallel processing question ...
I am experimenting with parallel processing using foreach and seem to be
missing something fundamental. Cool stuff. I've gone through the list and
seen a couple of closely related issues, but nothing I've tried seems to
work.
I know that the results from foreach are combined, but what if there is more
than one variable within the loop? Below is a snippet (non-functioning) of
code that I

rotated histogram
I would like to make a scatterplot, with a histogram of the x and y
variables above and to the right . I can use layout to set up the areas,
and hist(x,y) works fine for the upper histogram. However, I need a
rotated histogram on the right, and I don't know how to do this. I've
seen a solution with a bar plot on the right, but I'd like to use a
histogram. Do you know how I can do

Histogram colours in lattice.
I am trying to do a histogram lattice plot and I would like the
histogram to be filled with a different colour in each panel.
Note: I want every bar in each histogram to be the same colour,
but that there should be different colours *between* histograms.
Can't seem to get this to work. I thought that something like
the following would be a goer:
set.seed(42)
X <- rnorm(200)

Histogram from frequency table?
Hi, I've had some trouble figuring out how to produce a histogram in R directly given a frequency table or relative frequency table. I've looked through the documentation and mailing list, and have only found information on producing histograms given the original data set. Any help would be appreciated!
An example of what I'd like to do would be to take the following frequency table:

I can't find what is the problem.
