tk problem with R 2.2.0 on wine/linux
Actually I am trying to run sciview-R and encounted some problems with tk, and I thought I'll check the basic library(tcltk) functionallity, just to be sure. Anybody seen that '[tcl] bad window path name ".1".' message before? Prof. Philippe Grosjean: yes, I have managed to load most of sciview-R under Wine, except the tcltk library! =================== R : Copyright 2005,

I've just installed tcl version 8.3 for windows for use with rw1021, running on win95 (4.00.950). demo(tkttest) gives the following error messages. > require(tcltk) || stop("tcltk support is absent") Loading required package: tcltk Error in firstlib(which.lib.loc, package) : TCL_LIBRARY is not set Error in eval.with.vis(expr, envir, enclos) : tcltk support is

tcltk_example
Hello R and tcltk users... I'm running into difficulties applying the tkmenubutton() and tklistbox() functions, found in the tcltk package, to a simple gui. My search for R code which utilizes these two functions has come up empty. Currently, I am attempting to translate pure "Tcl/Tk" code to R with little to no success. So far, the most helpful tool for learning the tcltk R

Loading tcltk package fails on WinMe/Cygwin but works with Rgui
I am investigating how well R/tcltk is supported on different system and I ran into the same problem as Christian Schulz reported on February 7, 2002. I am using [R] v1.4.1 on WinMe and ActiveTcl 8.3.2. Loading tcltk within Rgui works just fine and both demo(tkdensity) and demo(tkttest) works as expected. However, when I start R from my Cygwin terminal dyn.load() fails to load the library: % R

monolithic versus modules
I spun a new xen kernel from pristine sources using modules, had the APCI errors and scsi timeouts. I took pristine source and spun a monolithic kernel and everything appears to be working. gcc version 3.4.4 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2) if it matter. xen_changeset : Wed Oct 26 11:59:13 2005 +0100 7500:20d1a79ebe31 I have had this APCI issue on this SMP Athlon with modules for a while now.

A small problem for samba on Solaris+gcc
Hi all, I am building samba-2.2.4 on Solaris 8 (Intel) with gcc-2.95.3, not Sun compiler. I have noticed that it tries to build winbind nss libs using -KPIC instead of -fPIC (which is the correct for my conf). It looks like configure overlooked the fact that I have gcc and assumed that all solaris boxes would use Sun compiler. I managed to compile them by substituting -fPIC for -KPIC in the

tcltk: Difficulties creating menus
I am struggling with adding menus to a tcltk application. The following example (from the O'Reilly book on Perl/Tk) works fine: #!/usr/bin/perl -w use Tk; my $mw = MainWindow->new; $menub = $mw->Menubutton(-text => "Color")->pack(); foreach (qw/red yellow green blue grey/) { $menub->radiobutton(-label => $_, -command => \&set_bg,

[PATCH] tools/firmware: remove "_PS0/3" Method
tools/firmware: remove "_PS0/3" Method Do not expose the ACPI power management "_PS0/3" Method to guest firmware. According to section 3.4 of the APCI specification 4.0, PCI device control the device power through its own specification but not through APCI. Qemu pushes "_PS0/3" to guest will cause a mess between ACPI PM and PCI PM as a result of incorrect ACPI table

System hangs at "Rebooting System" on VIA KM400 chipsets
Hello, We have a number of systems running KM400 chipsets from VIA (Socket A/462). Two different models have produced the same results -- DFI KM400-MLV and MSI KM4M-V. When a /sbin/reboot or /sbin/shutdown -r now is issued, the system does everything you would expect from a reboot, but when it gets to Rebooting System, it hangs and requires a power cycle. The logs do not indicate anything

Opinions on Cisco 7960G, Polycom IP-600, and Snom 360
Hello, We are planning to replace our current PBX with an Asterisk / SIP solution, and are now trying to decide which phones to get. My first thought was the Cisco 7960G, but the Cisco licensing scheme irritates me enough that I'll probably end up going with either the Polycom IP-600 or Snom 360. If anyone has any opinions of these phones, especially in comparison to each other, I would

How to use tcltk?
Hallo Tk experts, the Tcl/Tk package allows to define very nice widgets for starting R functions, for printing results and for interactive parameter input. tkdensity.R and tkttest.R demonstrate this and both demos explain how some of the tk functions can be used. For constructing new widgets I would like to see further examples showing Tcl/Tk package in action. Therefore my question: Is there a

R-1.1.0 is released
I've rolled up R-1.1.0.tgz a moment ago. You can get it from ftp://cvs.r-project.org/pub/CRAN/src/base/R-1.1.0.tgz or http://cvs.r-project.org/pub/CRAN/src/base/R-1.1.0.tgz or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site near you within a day or two. There's also a version split in three for floppies if you prefer that. For the R Core Team, Peter D. Here's the relevant bit
