Rprintf under windows?
Hi, I've been using Rprintf from a shared library compiled under various unix flavour for a while now. I get a warning about Rprintf being undefined when constructing the library, but everything works OK after loading. I've also been cross compiling the same library using the mingw32 tools for a while now, but the inclusion of Rprintf seems to be messing up this process. It can't

Any success with RDCOMServer and R-2.0.0?
Hi Everyone, I'm experimenting with the RDCOMServer package under R-2.0.0. I'm not having much success yet - the methods im registering do show up in the registry but I'm not able to call the using RDCOMClient from another package. I'm still attempting to diagnose my problem in other ways, but though I should check to see if there are any problems have been observed by others

argument names in generic print functions (PR#955)
Hello, I think this is a bug, although it is possible that I'm doind something silly. I want to be able to determine the argument name for variables passed to a generic print function suppose we have print.foo <- function(x, ...) { nm<-deparse(substitute(x)) cat("param name is ", nm, "\n") } d<-structure(1, class="foo") Under R-1.2.[2,3] >

R-2.0.1 and Rggobi
Hi, I've had no luck with the combination of R-2.0.1 and Rggobi/gobi (1.1-1 and 1.0-1 beta). I've tried a default configuration of ggobi, as well as one with all the plugins enabled. I'm using RedHat 9 Linux. The problem I'm experiencing is a segmentation fault when library.dynam is called from .First.lib ggobi appears to work OK from the command line. I had an earlier

Building R-1.4 on Tru64
Hello everyone, I've just attempted to build R-1.4 on Compaq Tru64 (I'll enclose the text from bug.report() from R-1.3.1 at the end.) The relevant part of the log is below. Any ideas? gcc -shared -o methods.so do_substitute_direct.o methods_list_dispatch.o method_meta_data.o slot.o -L/usr/local/lib /usr/ucb/ld: Warning: Unresolved: TYPEOF Rf_error Rf_protect Rf_substitute

configure error on alpha (PR#806)
Hi, I've found that the default options of gcc and g77 on alpha produce an executable that suffers from floating exceptions. There seems to be a problem with the configure scripts that prevents the --with-f77 option working correctly. The configure script tests that f77 is running by attempting to compile and link a dummy program - the link step seems broken on the alpha (it doesn't like

explict sharing of symbols between packages
Hi everyone, I'm thinking about breaking up a large package I have to avoid loading some of the more specialised parts when it isn't necessary. The package is dependent on shared libraries. The base one will keep all of the core stuff like constructors etc and the specialised parts will need to access these. It is obviously possible to set the "local" flag to false, however

passing pointer types via .C calls
Hi, this relates to my earlier message about external references and finalizers. I was experimenting over the weekend and now suspect that the appropriate solution to my problem will be to have a special case in the code that handles the .C call so that external references are handled appropriately - I guess that a pointer to the reference should be passed to the C code. As I've never

Weird problem with my code....
Dear all, Somebody kindly pointed out a problem in my WaveThresh3 code. I can't figure out what is wrong. I have whittled down the code quite a bit into an example case which repeats the problem. There is one R function called "ScalingFunction" and one C function called "CScalFn.c". The idea is that the R function calls the C routine repeatedly to compute a wavelet

Finalization and external pointers
I'm adding things to the Windows RGui so that there's more control of the interface from within R. One thing I'm considering is giving access to the Graphapp window objects using external pointers. This raises the issue of finalization on both sides: - If someone creates a pointer referring to a window, then that pointer should be changed to NULL when the window is closed. - If

Object finalization help
Heya guys, This one is bothering me as its evading my eye. I''m trying to set a callback on finalization of an object, ie: a finalizer set through a plugin to the model. Example In Plugin: def acts_as_goat class_eval do ObjectSpace.define_finalizer(self, lambda {self.conn.close} ) end end class UberGoat < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_goat end Is this the correct way to set

OggPCM version / header finalization
I take it you are talking about what is listed under alternative format ? If you have an implementation... you must have a list of enumeration fields... could you put them on the wiki. If we are asking for final comments... the wiki should be tidied up. The original format removed if the general consensus is that this is more on the right track... which it looks to be. Object finalization
I see some code in R to attach finalizers to external pointer references (Register[C]Finalizer). Anyone have an example of how to code the finalizer? R_RegisterCFinalizer accepts a C function, but I can't see how to get it to operate on the pointer, since the pointer is not passed to the function when its called. RegisterFinalizer takes an R closure, but how is it called from R (tried

[LLVMdev] MCJIT and recursive finalization
Hi, I ran into a problem migrating cling (finally!) to MCJIT: When an ("outer") MCJIT's finalization / llvm::RuntimeDyldImpl::resolveExternalSymbols() is called and a symbol is not known, cling can help by loading the suitable library and providing the symbol. It compiles the relevant C++ header as part of loading the library. This compilation emits symbols through the MCJIT. That

OggPCM version / header finalization
I have OggPCM (as currently defined) support implemented in mencoder and mplayer. I'd like to request that we settle on modifications to this header by the middle of next week or freeze the current header as the official major version 1.0, so I can get the patches cleaned up and released. We will be shipping a separate product based on this work in the near-term future, and compatability

OggPCM version / header finalization
Hi John, all, I still have at least 3 issues: 1) What are we trying to achieve with the "source-ID"? 8 [uint] Source ID (Unique amongst all OggPCM streams in the physical stream) Are we trying to separate the different channels that may be interleaved with each other inside the flat multi-channel sample stream? Interpretation 1: ----------------- So, would each channel be in a

Problem with GMT+/- time zones
I'm struggling with time zone version when expressed as hours offset from GMT. Can anyone confirm that the behaviour below is incorrect? It seems that the GMT offsets are backwards: > format(as.POSIXct("2011-05-23 17:23:00", tz="Europe/London"),tz="America/New_York",usetz=T) [1] "2011-05-23 12:23:00 EDT" - this works. >
