Autoconf / Windows package building problem for device package
Dear list,
Tadashi Kadowaki has developed a pdf device package
that allows to add hyperlinks and popups
to (currently) text, mtext and rect calls.
The package passes R CMD check (minor warnings) and compiles
on MacOS X and GNU/Linux, but we do not succeed in building
the package for Windows.
The current version of the package can be
checked out as

MODISTools help - with reproducible examples
I am using the R-package MODISTools (different than MODIS) and am having a lot of difficulty troubleshooting my code. I have spent awhile going through MODISTools tutorials, searching for my error code, looking at the source code. However, I have not been able to find any relevant information related to my error message.
The study I am currently working on involves a herd of 200 African buffalo

MODISTools Help
1. You should always cc the list unless there is a clear reason not to.
2. You still have failed to follow the posting guide: You say you have
difficulty troubleshooting your code, but you have shown us no code.
You got an error message that seems explicit, but with neither code
nor data, I do not know whether anyone can make sense of it. In any
case, I certainly cannot.
Cheers,
Bert

MODISTools Help
I am using MODIS Tools and am having a lot of difficulty troubleshooting my code.
I am a PhD student studying African buffalo in Kruger National Park, South Africa. The study I am currently working on involves a herd of 200 African buffalo caught every six months for 4 years. I am trying to use EVI and NDVI to assess seasonal variation thus I would like mean EVI and NDVI for each observation

I have and they have not yet replied - however that was only two or three days ago.
I have included a code example.

problem with afm on x86 Solaris 8
Hello,
I want to use wine on x86 Solaris 8 to run free agent. I downloaded
wine-20010510 and installed gcc 2.95.3 to compile wine, xpm, binutils,
bison, flex and updated xvidmode.c. Now I got this error:

Converting pfm to afm files
Hi,
I need a ascii format of the type1 metric file (.afm) but I have a binary
metric file (.pfm) only.
Is there a way to convert pfm to afm format?

Latin1 encoded AFM files
Hi,
I patched my R-1.1.1 sources to add support for a couple more fonts to
the postscript device.
It works for alphanumeric characters, but I notice that I should be
supplying an AFM file with ISOLatin1Encoding (I'm using a standard AFM
for now, and get some parsing errors from R when I open the postscript
device).
Is there a program/script which will re-encode my AFM files from

Need AFM files to test
I'm working on a heuristic routine to transform PostScript font families
(which can contain any number of fonts) to Windows typefaces (which have
at most four fonts -- "normal", bold, italic, and bold-italic). I'm
currently testing it with all the AFM files from Adobe's FTP server, but
I'd like to make sure it works well with as broad a selection of fonts
as possible.

MODISTools help - with reproducible examples
Please read up [1][2][3] on what constitutes reproducibility. A sample of data that triggers the problem is essential.

GPFS AFM Export Problem
Hi All,
I'm having a frustrating time exporting a GPFS Independent Writer AFM fileset through Samba.
Native GPFS directories exported through Samba seem to work properly, but when creating an export which points to an AFM IW fileset, I get "Access Denied" errors when trying to create files from an SMB client and even more unusual "Failed to enumerate objects in the container:

Problems using Computer Modern fonts
I have been trying to use the Computer Modern fonts in postscript output
from R, but I have run into a few problems and limitations. I did read and
follow the instructions in the documentation.
The first problem is that R sometimes needs to use a minus sign in the
text in plots, but the non-symbol computer modern fonts contain only a
hyphen. There is no way that I can find to tell R to use a

I would like to know if a MetaPost device is available or in the plans.
