SURVEY: wxRuby API style
Hi As we''re getting closer to a stable release of wxRuby, I''d like to get your views on the API style. There''s a survey here: http://rubyforge.org/survey/survey.php?group_id=35&survey_id=66 I''d like to know if you''d like to see two wxSugar syntax features become part of core, standard wxRuby version 2.0. These are: 1) Allow ruby-style

Design of a survey using the "survey" package
I have looked through the new "Complex Surveys" book and the documentation for the "survey" package and it appears to me that there are no functions in "survey" that help one to design a sampling scheme. For example, in the book section 2.8 discusses the design of stratified samples, but there is no mention of any functions in the "survey" package that

Primer for working with survey data in R
Dear Kevin, In addition to the advice you've received, take a look at the survey package. It's not quite what you're asking for, but in fact it's probably more useful, in that it provides correct statistical inference for data collected in complex surveys. The package is described in an article, T. Lumley (2004), Analysis of complex survey samples, Journal of Statistical Software

Survey analysis of repeated relationships?
I just discovered the great piece of software that is available with the survey package. Many thanks and 'Hats off' to Thomas Lumley. While package survey covers analysis of features of objects sampled (in clusters, strata) I could not find analysis of features of repeated relationsships between sampled objects (in clusters, strata). My understanding is that it is not adequate to treat

Using R for a slightly tricky survey analysis
Hello folks, I have recently finished a pilot study of a survey and am working to complete the statistical analysis of the results in R. My Phd is technically in computer science (not statistics), although I teach basic stats and have a "decent" working knowledge of the area. With that said, my expertise in psychometrics theory and factor analysis is weaker, so I thought I would send an

Survey Design / Rake questions
I'm trying to learn how to calibrate/postStratify/rake survey data in preparation for a large survey effort we're about to embark upon. As a working example, I have results from a small survey of ~650 respondents, ~90 response fields each. I'm trying to learn how to (properly?) apply the aforementioned functions. My data are from a bus on board survey. The expansion in the

mixed models for analyzing survey data with unequal selec tion probability
Han-Lin I don't think I have seen a reply so I will suggest that maybe you could try a different approach than what you are thinking about doing. I believe the current best practice is to use the weights as a covariate in a regression model - and bytheway - the weights are the inverse of the probabilities of selection - not the probabilities. Fundamentally, there is a difficulty in making

Three Stage Sampling of categorical variable using 'survey' in R
For a sanitation project in Bangladesh I need to design a three stage sample survey to be representative of around 40 million people. I find myself suddenly with several challenges with which I struggle and would be gratefully for any help. As the questions are linked I kept them together rather than creating multiple posts 1) SURVEY DESIGN So far I designed mainly two stage cluster surveys but

R usage survey
Hi R users, I request members of the R community to consider filling a short survey regarding the use of R. The survey can be found at http://goo.gl/jw1ig Please accept my apologies for posting here for a non-technical reason. The data collected will be suitably analyzed and I'll post a link to the results in the coming weeks. Thank you all for your interest and for sharing your R usage

Surveys ans missing values
Hello, I still apologise if the question i ask is naive. I would like to use R instead of usual softs (SAS, Stata) or at list to do things that the others do not. As a consequence I am trying to get familiar with R, and i am astonished because it does not seem to do things that are easy to do on other softs. I have got data with missing values (I am working on a questionnaire filled by students)

Speech coding survey
Hi, In order to make sure the Speex speech codec (http://speex.sourceforge.net/) is adapted to the needs of the greatest audience possible and because our project is in some way related to Vorbis, you are invited to take a few minutes to fill the following survey: https://sourceforge.net/survey/survey.php?group_id=46651&survey_id=13035 We would like to know what your needs are in terms of

Speex users survey -- please complete it
Hi everyone, I'm slowly preparing for an eventual 1.2 release and thought it would be a good time to get an idea of what Speex users think so I can plan better. I'd appreciate if as many users as possible could spend the 5-10 minutes it takes to complete this survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wo0h_2f9rYdspRyvNpOs4OLA_3d_3d I'm interested in feedback from people who have

Subpopulations in Complex Surveys
Hi, is there a way to analyze subpopulations (e.g. women over 50, those who answered "yes" to a particular question) in a survey using Survey package? Other packages (e.g. Stata, SUDAAN) do this with a subpopulation option to identify the subpopulation for which the analysis shoud be done. I did not see this option in the Survey package. Is there another way to do this?

Post stratification weights in survey package in R
Hi all, I have data collected from a survey administered on a subset of the population. I also have the population proportions of variables such as gender, race and housing type. I would like to combine the weights from each separate cross tab (of gender, race and housing type) such that the weighted proportions of my survey data matches that of the population. I have tried the following:

[RFC] GitHub Survey - Please review
Folks, I've created the survey with the feedback I got on the "Voting" thread in the llvm-foundation list, and put it here: https://goo.gl/forms/k4J7M3N7oLNTOlDq2 Apparently, I can't allow people to comment on the form itself. It's either full permission or nothing. So, I think the best way to do this is to do a review on the list, with my most sincere apologies to the
