How to get a Window handle from another app?
Hello, I would like to get a window handle from another app outside of wxRuby and convert it into a wxRuby Window handle so that I can use it as the parent Window for several wxRuby child windows. Window#paint patch
Attached is a patch and some extra files to fix our ObjectPreviouslyDeleted crasher with the paint method. As discussed, it just re-implements the method in Ruby. I created a directory lib/wx/classes as a place to hold Ruby extensions to the API. The attached app.rb and window.rb files should be added to it. Drawing thread not getting enough time from scheduler?
Need some assistance with animation again... When I run the drawing code in a separate thread, it''s slow as heck. I think it may be because the drawing thread isn''t getting enough time from the thread scheduler. Dragging images across the canvas
Hi wxRuby Gurus, I''m trying to write a sample program which allows me to drag an image (by left_mouse_button down) across the canvas. I got it to work ... well, sort of. The problem is I can drag it only by clicking on the left top corner of the image and nowhere else. Besides, the dragging is not very smooth. How can I make it better? Tearing in my buffered animation test script...
OK, I have a basic blit demo working (thanks to Alex Fenton for his reply, which I finally saw). However, there''s a great deal of "tearing" on the screen - flickering grey lines in the black background. It looks like the blit isn''t always complete when the screen refreshes. Another question: If I have a panel that contains a sizer that contains, for example, some number of gauges, and I want to add another gauge on-the-fly, can I do that? Every time I try modifying things at run-time, it just messes everything up. -Kurt

No joy from Wx::App.dispatch, Wx::App.yield...
OK, back with another iteration of the same problem... I updated my game demo, but the Close button failed to respond when (and only when) there were too many objects onscreen. The drawing loop is probably lasting longer than my drawing timer interval. I was able to reproduce the problem in my (probably familiar by now) test script just by boosting the number of lines drawn per frame. After

on_paint nightmare
I was trying out the RMagick sample from the wiki and ran into an interesting(?) problem: If you resized the window it got stuck in an endless loop calling onPaint. After a bit, if you had the mouse in the window it would crash. Anyone seen this behavior before? I wonder if this is related to other crashes we''ve seen? Roy
