Building wxruby on Solaris 9
Hi all, Ruby 1.8.1 Solaris 9 wxwindows 2.4.2 (package from blastwave.org) wxruby 0.3.0 I''m having trouble getting this sucker to build on my Solaris box. Here''s how I''m building: ruby extconf.rb --with-xrc-dir=/opt/csw --with-xrc-include=/opt/csw/lib/wx The include directive I added because the setup.h file is there (for whatever reason). And yes, /opt/csw/bin and

wxRuby Print class Progress
Right now I have the following progress made with printing: - WxPrinterDC - 100% - WxPrinter, 90% - WxPrintData - 10% - WxPrintDialog - 80% - WxPrintDialogData - 10% - WxHtmlPrintout - 10% - WxPrintout - 0% (this is abstract class I need to work on so wxRuby users can subclass) - WxPrintPreview - 0% By the end of this weekend I hope to have all of the above classes completed. I do have partial

Big question: Move to SWIG?
A few days ago, someone asked me why I am using wxpp instead of SWIG. The question prompted me to revisit and re-evaluate SWIG, and I now believe it would be best to convert wxRuby to SWIG. SWIG has greatly improved its C++ support since the last time I looked at it, and I think its Ruby support has improved quite a bit as well. Also, now that I have written wxpp, I understand the nature of

wxclasses-2.4.2.xml
I couldn''t find the original tex document that the author of the xml file converted from. Anyone knows where it is? I am toying with the idea of _not using_ the xml file. Either getting the wx header files thru SWIG (I assume you guys have thought about this before already, any specific problems?), or continue with the template generator in the current wxruby-4.0. Adding to wxRuby (Now I fired up)
Nick, Curt, Kevin, Now that I have dabbled ever so slightly in adding to wxRuby on a source level (and it wasn''t perfect, Nick had to fix some of my code!), I feel all fired up. Any areas specific that need to be added that I could test my luck with again, or can I just go pick and choose? This gets funner every day... (yes, i constitute "funner" as a word), Zach

Wx::HtmlWindow.on_link_clicked
Hello, wxruby-users. This is an addition which implement wrapper for overloading wxHtmlWindow::OnLinkClicked method. Unfortunately, it was impossible to make it correctly without ugly hack to wxpp.rb, but i`m hope it does not broke it. Please look at attachment for a patch for htmlwindow.t and wxpp.rb and additional file htmllinkinfo.t (need to be added to $objs array in extconf.rb). Sample

XRC Resources
I currently use DialogBlocks to generate my dialogs for wxWidgets apps I write in C++. DialogBlocks has the ability to generate XRC resources which I would like to use with wxRuby, is this possible? I am very new to Ruby and it looks like a great language and with wxRuby it looks like a great solution for quick in house applications. Thanks Sean Long

where is destructors?
Hello, wxruby-users. I`m noticed huge GDI resources leakage when working with my programs (on windows). Fortunately, i simple fix this by calling ''delete'' on wxBitmap object (patch bellow). But i`m wondering -- why there are no calls to destructors of wrapped wxwidgets objects in wxruby? Is there some problems? This is a patch:

Windows XP Pro cannot access Samba
My WXPP PC cannot login to the Samba server although the Win2K and W9x PC's can. The XPP system has joined the domain, but when I rebooted the PC and tried logging in via the domain it complained about not having permission or an account which I've verified and have redone several times, but still I cannot login. Anyone have any information on how to fix this. --

wxRuby-SWIG 0.0.3 is available
REMINDER: wxruby-swig is an experimental rewrite of wxRuby, using SWIG. It is not yet useful. The official wxRuby is still at 0.2.1. The 0.0.3 release of wxruby-swig is able to run the "minimal.rb" sample, which includes menu event handling. As always, it is available at: http://qualitycode.com/repos/wxruby-swig/ I also created a tarball this time, so you can just download that and

Windows Build - Down to Run Time Errors
I finally got a clean compile and link for wxRuby. Now I''m down to deciphering runtime errors. Once again, I''m going to pick up on this tomorrow, but I thought I''d post my console output tonight to see if anyone has any thoughts before I tackle this tomorrow. I''m running the same app "minimal.rb" E:\Dev\RubyDev\wxruby\samples\minimal>ruby

newbie: remove column with low mean from a matrix
Dear all, Sorry to bother you with one more newbie question. I have a dataobject with several hundreds of columns. I want to remove columns with a mean of the column values below a certain value: > a<- c(1,2,3,4,5,6) > b<-c(2,4,6,8,10,12) > c<- c(3,6,9,12,15,18) > test<- as.matrix(cbind(a, b, c)) > mean(a) [1] 3.5 > mean(b) [1] 7 > mean(c) [1] 10.5 Say the

SWIG update
I have a minimal working version of a SWIG-based wxRuby that can bring up an empty Frame with a title. On my system, it crashes on exit. I suspect this is the same problem that I mentioned months ago when I first upgraded to wxWindows 2.4.2. The problem mysteriously vanished at some point, but now it is back. I fiddled with this new code for several frustrating hours, and couldn''t

Status report, including progess toward 0.3
Greetings all, I''m trying to get a good start on 0.3, so I checked in quite a few changes tonight. I am working through all my old emails where people had submitted patches or bug reports, and tried to do as many as I could. There are a few more still in my queue. See the changelog for a complete record of what I fixed. The hardest one turned out to be validators. They were
