Sizer question
First, Thank you, thank you, thank you for those who put wxRuby together. I''m thrilled to be able to write GUI code in Ruby! I''m hitting some confusion about how Sizers work. I''ve read the tutorials and the section in the wxWidgets book but I still can''t seem to figure this out. Here''s an example of my code: parent = Wx::Panel.new(frame, -1,

Speed issue when writing to RGui console from tcl/tk GUI
It seems that there are speed issues when printing to the R console from a tcl/tk GUI. Here are functions to write a lot of output, and to display how long it takes. printsalot <- function(n) { for(i in 1:n) cat(i, fill = TRUE) } timings <- function(n = 1e3) { print(system.time(printsalot(n))) } Calling timings() from the console reveals a run time of a few hundredths of a second.

Just getting noise
The way I do this is to compute the number of frames (by dividing the size of my input by the number of bytes per frame and then calling speex_encode_int() that many times. Something like speex_bits_reset( &bits ); for( n = 0; n < num_frames; ++n ) { speex_encode_int( enc_state, (int16_t*)input_tail,

Just getting noise
I'm only doing one frame using speex_encode_int greatly simplifies my code I'm not sure why the sample I was working off of was converting the shorts to floats then calling the other encode/decode methods. Based off of your suggestions I tried the following but I get the same result. virtual Enigma::u8* Encode(Enigma::u8* inputBuffer,size_t inputSize, size_t& outputSize) {

Just getting noise
Alright noted, I changed me code so that the state is created in the constructor and destroyed in the destructor of the object. However I'm still getting the same issue although I'm sure that would have bit me sooner or later. The new code is as follows. virtual Enigma::u8* Encode(Enigma::u8* inputBuffer,size_t inputSize, size_t& outputSize) { short *in=(short*)inputBuffer;

Just getting noise
At just a first quick glance, I'm pretty sure that you don't want to be creating and destroying the speex encoder/decoder with each frame. That's supposed to stay the same for more-or-less the entire session. Just getting noise
I'm completely new to speex and I'm having issues adding it to my application. I can pass raw PCM and that works fine so I know my transmission code is fine however when I try to encode/decode using speex I get noise almost like a whining/buzzing sound. I'm sure it's and issue in my code but I'm not sure where to start looking other then my gut tells me I'm not sizing or

wxGrid Event handling work around?
Hi wxRuby gurus, I remember a while back, Zach Dennis was working on a mini Spreadsheet app using wxGrid when the issue of lack of wxGrid event handling was discussed. I think Kevin (or Assaph?) had suggested some workarounds until the Swig based version is out. Could not figure out from the archives exactly what the final resolution was, but I am stuck at the same spot and am desperately in need

Scrolling to the bottom of a Grid
Hi, Thanks to the newly added event handlers for Wx::Grid in the 0.6.0 release, I can now provide a much slicker intreface to my "data widgets" which heavily rely on that control. However, I haven''t quite figured out how to programmatically scroll to the last row of a populated grid (actually, the first empty row). So say that I have a grid with 200 rows only 20 of which

Tagged wxruby2 v0.0.29, plus added more directors
Since things seemed to be somewhat stable (that is, wxruby2 compiles and runs on all three platforms), I tagged what has been there for a couple days as v0_0_29. Nothing magic about it, but it had been a while since I had tagged. Then I worked on adding directors to the classes that don''t have them, in the hopes of avoiding more segfault crashes during garbage collection. I was able

wxGrid Question
When operating with a wxGrid is there a way to get a reference to the TextCtrl field that is created when you start typing in a cell. Also is there a way to get mouse events to work with a wxGrid, so far I can''t get any of them to work. I had tried various combo''s of: @grid.evt_left_down(){ |event| puts "Left mouse is down"; } using evt_left_down, evt_left_up,

Handling Events that don''t take an ID
Hey Kevin, Am I correct in assuming that if I want a particular widget to respond to an event which doesn''t take an ID as an argument (like evt_size or evt_left_down), that I have to inherit a new widget and define the event handler within the inherited class? Here''s a little contrived code example to illustrate what I mean: class MyCtrl < Wx::TextCtrl def

FlexGridSizer question
=begin I am trying to understand how FlexGridSizer works and I have written a small test application using the latest wxRuby 0.4.0 on Win XP (Home). I cannot get static text ''Week'', ''Day'' and ''Date'' line up above the OK button. I have tried all combinations of ALIGN flags, but I either got the text sticking far too close to the left edge of

Speex Windows from 1.1.6 source
Hi All, I am using Speex for encoding/decoding the audio stream for my streaming application. I have used almost the same code In the sampleenc.c and sampledec.c, except that I have used The buffers from the mic as input for encoder and encoded audio As input for decoder, instead of files input. My Problem is the audio played on the receiving side after decoding Is only a "hush" or it

[LLVMdev] Why can't comparisons with negative zero be simplified?
In InstCombineCompares.cpp, routine InstCombiner::FoldFCmp_IntToFP_Cst, there are these lines: // Comparisons with zero are a special case where we know we won't lose // information. bool IsCmpZero = RHS.isPosZero(); // If the conversion would lose info, don't hack on this. if ((int)InputSize > MantissaWidth && !IsCmpZero) return nullptr; Why check for positive

patches for wxGridCell*Renderer and wxGridCell*Editor
I added a bunch of *.i files to get the cell renderers and editors working for wxGrid. I still have a problem when switching cells in the grid but I think that is a problem with wxGrid, will look into it. In the process I found a bug in a typemap for wxArrayString & that I am surprised we did not find earlier. ($input = Qnil) should be ($input == Qnil), big difference. Also added a type check
