patch for Icon
I just checked out a fresh copy and had to tweak wxIcon.h to get it to compile on Mac OS X and windows. The problem is with: wxIcon(const wxString& filename, wxBitmapType type = wxBITMAP_TYPE_XPM, int desiredWidth=-1, int desiredHeight=-1); that signature is only used on GTK on other systems it is: wxIcon(const wxString& name, long

wxruby swig update
Good news and bad news. First he good news. wxruby-swig now compiles on Linux, Mac, and Windows using wxWidgets 2.5. I just patched a bug with the paint method today, but it''s getting very close to the first release of wxruby. With a little more cleanup, I think we''re getting ready to do a first release of it, which will hopefully replaced wxruby. Of course, the debug spew

Wizards
Hi Please find attached a set of patches and swig files to implement Wizards for wxruby. Also a brief sample. Quick q - the C declarations of evt_xxx_xxx methods and their attaching to Ruby classes seems to be duplicated across Events.i and EvtHandler.i - is one of these the right place to be adding them? or both? Thanks alex _______________________________________________

building wxruby2 from cvs (gentoo)
Hello, I am a newbie to wx and wxruby, I just built wxruby2 on my gentoo box. At first it did not work. So I post a little message,it might help others. At first a cryptic message was shown SWIG Version 1.3.21 Copyright (c) 1995-1998 University of Utah and the Regents of the University of California Copyright (c) 1998-2003 University of Chicago Compiled with i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++

I fixed most of the errors. There is a weird error I am seeing and seems to be some incompatibility in expanding macros between FileSystem.h in LLVM and intl.h in wxWidgets. Any idea how to fix this? RE: wxRuby
STEVE: Yes, wxRuby is being used on OS X. The wxRuby-user''s ML is the best place to go for help. I''ll cross post this and any responses if you don''t want to subscribe. WXRUBY-USERS: Steve is the guy who is working on the One-Click Ruby Installer for OS X. Can anyone spot what his problem is here? Thanks, Curt Stephen Steiner wrote: > > I''ve tried

[LLVMdev] llvm-tv
Thanks John. I verified that and poolalloc builds with LLVM 3.0. I used clang for compiling wxWidgets, LLVM 3.0 and poolalloc. But llvm-tv build still gives build error. I take it that llvm-tv is still incompatible with these versions of poolalloc and LLVM 3.0. I think the code is manageable - couple of files in lib,include and some 30 odd small files in tools directory. I'll have a look at

SWIG compilation
The result of the compilation after installing swig results in lots of errors of the sort: WindowDisabler.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _SWIG_Ruby_ConvertPtr I can see this is defined in rubydef.swg but I''m not sure why this isn''t just included in the files that need it. Can any swig experts tell me what I need to do to progress? I''m using

Rake and VC++ 6
Has anybody tried the new wxruby-swig from the msvc++ command line compiler using ''rake''? The rakefile seems to depend on the wx_config method, which doesn''t exist for msw because it doesn''t have BASH to execute the shell script. Has anyone hacked the rakefile to fix this? Nick

wxruby-swig 0.0.7
I just pushed a new wxruby-swig, which includes the known MSWin rakefile changes. It also has some significant internal improvements that will make it easier to add classes, and it includes support for one new class (wxEvent). wxruby-swig is now licensed under the "MIT license". wxRuby will remain under the wxWindows license as long as we are releasing the old code base. When we

wxruby-swig 0.0.12 is up
This one includes the latest App.cpp which includes the Mac fix from Nick. I thought it was in 0.0.11, but it wasn''t. It also adds support for "stock objects", like colours, pens, and fonts. This turned out to be quite challenging, but I''m happy with the solution. It only took a few days :-/ Kevin

ListItem patches
Hi Attached, patches to implement ListItem. This class, in wxruby 0.6.0, allows styling of individual items in a ListCtrl, via a particularly clunky API. In disambiguating the overloaded ListCtrl#set_item method it introduces one non backwards-compatible change. I''ve followed the WxPython convention as described in the Wx class ref, renaming set_item(index, col, string, imageid) to

Compiling WxRuby2 on Ubuntu 6.06
Hi All, I am trying to compile WxRuby on Ubuntu 6.06. I checked out the latest source code from CVS and ran ''rake'' under the wxruby2 directory. embedding wxruby?
Hello, is it possible to code a wxWidgets GUI in C++ and pass the whole wxApp or just single windows to embedded Ruby code? This would be very nice to provide a scriptable plugin system. HtmlWindow and friends
Hi Attached is a patch to add HtmlWindow and some of its friends, including HtmlEasyPrinting. Also a sample. I haven''t tried exposing the parsing and rendering API yet to allow custom tags etc - I just wanted to get basic HTML and the 0.6.0 compatibility classes first. There may well be some quite easy classes left. There''s one ugly kludge to get OnOpeningURL to compile -

Wx::Window#get_text_extent patch
Here''s a patch to fix Wx::Window#get_text_extent - it requires that the patches from teh last message are applied, to enable *INPUT etc typemaps. Roy - though the function works correctly when called from Ruby, it still causes a crash when called internally when clicking on a Wx::Grid cell. Saw your message on SWIG mailing list, hopefully someone there can help out. alex
