GetSize and GetPosition
Right now we default to returning objects instead of arrays.
perl/python have alternates that return tuples/lists. Do we want to
%alias those so we can get arrays back or does it really matter?

Mouse motion example - help
Hi,
I am trying out this example adapted from the wxpython book, but the
mouse motion event does not seem to be captured right. What am I doing
wrong?
Thanks

A new cut of the automatic WxRuby documentation is now viewable online at

There''s also a pdf version

and a tarball

In terms of output, it''s no advance on what Sean has already done.

Pointer position on keypress event?
Hi.
Is there any straightforward way to tell pointer position (x, y)
upon keypress? In original wxWidgets, wxKeyEvent supports GetX()
and GetY() methods, but wxRuby''s KeyEvent object does not have
one. I also checked with event.methods and event.instance_variables.
Do I need to keep track of pointer position by evt_motion?

wxruby 0.2 for osx panther release
A first draft of the wxruby binary release for the macintosh is now
available at:
http://www.nicreations.net/wxruby-0.2-osx-panther.dmg
Install the metapackage (mpkg). You will need to choose a folder for the
sample apps. wxruby.bundle is installed in
/usr/lib/ruby/1.6/powerpc-darwin7.0
A few questions:
1) Should I just leave the samples in a folder instead of making the

Patch to wxMouseEvent.h
This patch just applies some const tags that were missing (does this
affect anything at all?) and removes a definition that was causing a
conflict.

Some handy methods - perhaps cool enough to be committed some time
Hi.
Some time ago I posted some prototype-"extensions", which could come in
handy.
I''ve been updating them a bit and added a few more and I think its time
to share
it again.
Feel free to use it.
The code should be rather self explaining, but heres a quickguide.
- new Geometry.Size(width, height) - Creates a new instance of size
- new Geometry.Position(x,y) - Creates a new

Fix for non-centered windows
Two patches here:
First one removes virtual from a function that shouldn''t have been virtual.
Second one applies a typemap to catch GetRectFromChildWindow. For
reasons that are completely beyond me the standard ruby OUTPUT typemaps
don''t define directorargouts. I will take a stab at patching SWIG''s
default typemaps someday so we get this fixed for free on all our

Hello Everyone
I have a bit of a problem with installation. I installed wxX11 in my
linux box. I compiled the demos and all the demos, save dbbrowse,
work. I think I have a functional wx. Now I''m trying to install wxRuby
from source, since I have a 64 bit machine. I only have permission to
my home directory so my installation is :
/usr/people/stevenq/Applications/wxX11/
