Window#paint patch
Attached is a patch and some extra files to fix our ObjectPreviouslyDeleted crasher with the paint method. As discussed, it just re-implements the method in Ruby. I created a directory lib/wx/classes as a place to hold Ruby extensions to the API. The attached app.rb and window.rb files should be added to it. When this patch is applied, files in that directory are automatically required on

Problem with PaintDC(MSW)
When implementing EVT_PAINT handlers in c++ the PaintDC object is constructed at the beginning of the function, and auto destructed at it''s end, which informs wxwidgets that "invalid regions in the window have been repainted". Under ruby, this is not the case and causes a stream of EVT_PAINT events to be sent to the given window (until one of PaintDC objects is destructed by

help w/push_event_handler plus doc update request
Hi, 1) Can the online api docs get updated? Specifically can the overview pages get added in to the main http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/doc/ index.html page? I happened upon the link to the Event Overview page while browsing some class and wished that it had been listed in the Event section of the index page.I don''t know how many other "overview" pages there are but it

update on samples
Hi all Have been taking a look at the samples to see what''s broken. Not looking TOO bad overall, but a few problems we should try and tackle before alpha: Firstly, I have a few commits (minimal, dialogs, unicode) - anyone else been working on these or can I go ahead? One general issue is that many of the samples rely on being run from their own directory, but don''t enforce

How to get a Window handle from another app?
Hello, I would like to get a window handle from another app outside of wxRuby and convert it into a wxRuby Window handle so that I can use it as the parent Window for several wxRuby child windows. Basically I want to use the FRAME_FLOAT_ON_PARENT window style so that my wxRuby windows become associated with the outside app kind of like toolbars, e.g., they don''t show up in the

Dragging images across the canvas
Hi wxRuby Gurus, I''m trying to write a sample program which allows me to drag an image (by left_mouse_button down) across the canvas. I got it to work ... well, sort of. The problem is I can drag it only by clicking on the left top corner of the image and nowhere else. Besides, the dragging is not very smooth. How can I make it better? I am using wxRuby 0.6.0 on Win XP (Home) and

Adding ScreenDC
Here is the file to add ScreenDC. I noticed that it inherits from wxDC which is what the docs show but the headers for each platform are much different: - Mac,MSW,os2,motif,palmos all inherit from wxWindowDC - X11,GTK inherit from wxPaintDC - MGL, cocoa inherit from wxDC After saying that on Windows it still work inheriting from wxDC so I left it for now, any thoughts? CRAN Mirror definition error.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has run across this problem in the past and might be able to suggest a solution. I did a review of the FAQ's link trying to find a topic that closely related to the experience I was having, however I didn't see anything that might help in diagnosing the problem. While invoking the options under the "package" menu I get the following errors:
