Results of CFA with Lavaan
I've just found the lavaan package, and I really appreciate it, as it seems to succeed with models that were failing in sem::sem. I need some clarification, however, in the output, and I was hoping the list could help me. I'll go with the standard example from the help documentation, as my problem is much larger but no more complicated than that. My question is, why is there one latent

Structural equation modeling in R(lavaan,sem)
I am a new user of the function sem in package sem and lavaan for structural equation modeling 1. I don?t know what is the difference between this function and CFA function, I know that cfa for confirmatory analysis but I don?t know what is the difference between confirmatory analysis and structural equation modeling in the package lavaan. 2. I have data that I want to analyse but I have some

Multiple Groups CFA in Lavaan
Hello, I am trying to do a multiple groups CFA in lavaan and I get the following error message: Error in cov(data.obs, use = "pairwise") : 'x' is empty I'm not sure what this message is referring to, can anyone help me? CFA with lavaan or with SEM
Hi Sorry for the rather long message. I am trying to use the cfa command in the lavaan package to run a CFA however I am unsure over a couple of issues. I have @25 dichotomous variables, 300 observations and an EFA on a training dataset suggests a 3 factor model. After defining the model I use the command fit.dat <- cfa(model.1, data=my.dat, std.lv = T, estimator="WLSMV",

Error in rowMeans function
Hello, I am trying to create parcels for a CFA model. I am trying to average 6 sets of 3 variables each into parcels. I don't understand why I am getting an error message as follows: Thanks for your help, Catherine atds1par <- rowMeans(semHW1dat1[, c("atds1", "atds2", "atds3")], na.rm=TRUE) atds2par <- rowMeans(semHW1dat1[, c("atds4",

Finding inter-function dependencies within a package
Hi, I'd like to know which functions in a package call one specific function. I think I've seen a tool for identifying such dependencies, but now I can't find it :-( Searches of help and R site search for keywords like function, call, tree, depend haven't helped :-( Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Keith Jewell

Function dependency function
Hi, Is there a function taking a function as an argument, which returns all the functions it calls, and all the the functions those functions call, and so on? I could use Rprof, but that would involve executing the function, which may miss some branches of code. I'd really like a function which looks at the source code to work out all the functions that could possibly be called. When I

Is there a tool to find unused functions?
I've inherited a large R codebase which has grown over a few years and a few different developers. It contains many things I'd like to delete: - Unused functions - Variable definitions that are never called - Unreachable code I'd write that myself, it would even be fun, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Is there an R package that can find these things? I've heard of

Factor analysis and cfa with asymptotically distributed data
I have friendship data which is strong skewed. So it doesn't make sense to use maximum likelihood methods for fa and cfa. But I couldn't find any function for asymptotically distributed data for doing a factor analysis. Only: apca() but there is no possibility to allow for factor correlations. The same problem is with sem() I couldn't get any solutions for my model because of the

Beginner s quwry about cfa in lavaan
Dear all, I am trying to learn about R. As a Phd student, I would like to use R for Krippendorff s alpha and later for a series of CFA. Is there any good introduction to these kind of analyses, or could you recommend me some tutorials on youtube, for example? I am new to R, so I need something basic , starting from opening the R environment?. Thank you . Martina Hulesova Odesl?no z m?ho Windows

Is there a tool to find unused functions?
mvbutils::foodweb produces a graphical display of the hierarchy (or network or ...) of function calls. Isolated functions are not called. This might help you. -- Mike On Wed, Nov 15, 2017 at 12:44 AM, Alexander Engelhardt <alex at chaotic-neutral.de> wrote: > I've inherited a large R codebase which has grown over a few years and a few > different developers. > > It

c2d4u: apt sees new package version as a downgrade
Hello, I noticed a strange thing when attempting to upgrade a specific package (lavaan) from c2d4u and wondered if someone could confirm the problem. In short, apt seems to think that an older version from the "universe" repo is higher than the newer version from c2d4u. When I do apt-cache showpkg r-cran-lavaan I get the output at the bottom of this email. Then, I tried to force

Path Diagram
Hi All, Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, but I have been searching for an answer all day and not been able to find one. I am trying to plot a path diagram for a CFA I have run, I have installed Rgraphviz and run the following: pathDiagram(cfa, min.rank='item1, item2, item3, item4, item5, item6, item7, item8, item9, item10, item11, item12', max.rank='SMP,

Negative variance with lavaan in a multigroup analysis.
Hi list members, I saw a couple lavaan posts here so I think I?m sending this to the correct list. I am trying to run a multigroup analysis with lavaan in order to compare behavioural correlations across two populations. I?m following the method suggested in the paper by Dingemanse et al. (2010) in Behavioural Ecology. In one of the groups, lavaan returns negative variance for one path and I?m

Lavaan Package - How to Extract Residuals in Data Values
Hello R Community, I am using the Lavaan package in R 2.15.0 to analyze data collected from 1200 lakes across North America. My dataset includes 3 continuous independent variables (LOG_NTL, LOG_PTL, and LOG_SR_A_D) and 1 continuous dependent variable (BIOVOL) . I have successfully constructed structural equation models using the Lavaan package (example included below with code), but I have not
