Strange behavior scale and switcher plugin after update
Hi, I have noticed a strange behavior: after the added one of the options "window_match" in scale and switcher plugins; these do not show some windows like gmplayer or amsn's windows This is the output of xprop $ xprop _NET_WINDOW_DECOR(INTEGER) = 20061011, 46149375, 4, 4, 27, 4, 4, 4, 27, 4, 9, 0, 36965, -11, -34, -68, 0, 582, 32767, 0, 0, 32869, 571, -34, -68, 0, 32767,

x11 icon and class
The X11 device driver does not provide the X window manager with an icon (_NET_WM_ICON) or, under some circumstances, with a class (WM_CLASS). This hinders usability under the new stable version of Ubuntu, which has a (new) user interface centered around icons. I am not sure if this was a conscious choice by r-core or simply a low priority. In case of the latter, I attach a patch against

Fullscreen windows(videos) and Compiz
I worte in my last mail that when I ue compiz git fullscreen videos are no longer ontop of the gnome-panel... that means that the gnome-panel is still visible while playing the video in fullscreen. R's X11 Device Properties
Hello, This is an issue that is at the interface of R, X, and my window manager (either icewm or openbox, both latest versions). I am running R 2.10.1 on Ubuntu 9.10. My goal: When an X11 device is started in R (e.g., by simply calling plot), I would like for the resulting window to be in the "always on top" state, and for focus not to switch to it. Configuring this behavior is

X11 window title setting in X11() Device (PR#11325)
--=-=-= Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I think I have found a very little bug in the new version of the X11() device in R 2.7.0, more precisely in the devX11.c file. The problem is that when you open a new window with X11(), the title of the window (the WM_NAME property) is not immediately set. It seems that the window is created, then it

What actually does cause 'windows slowly moving down + right
Hi, did the search and didn't find an answer. For months now most of my windows apps, running on a minima xmonad system move slowly down down down and always to the right side. I thought, maybe some .dlls needed. I thought, maybe it's that I don't use a full desktop environment and prefer a windows manager instead (xmonad) love to know what causes this. So, basically almost anything

[Bug 273] sshd hangs on shell exit if user spawned child with/bin/nohup
Perhaps the man page should be fixed then, because neither rsh nor rlogin provide any kind of port forwarding, or X11 forwarding, etc... Also, the comparison between ssh and rsh is more appropriate if you're talking about SSHv1 and much less so if you're talking about SSHv2. save position of spawned windows?
When I run a windowed application, wine remmebers window size and position. So far, so good. When the running app however spawns a new window, it's always in the upper left corner and has default size - example: ACDSee when switching from browser to viewer mode. Can I make wine remember the spawned windows' geometry? Dex -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GCS d--(+)@

Weird Okular/KDE error - thousand procs spawned
Hello all: I'm trying to troubleshoot a strange and repeatable error and not sure where to log the bug report. I subscribe to Linux Journal and download their PDF. The DLJ230.pdf opens in the Okular PDF reader from Konqueror. If I scroll down to the ad for some colo site (www.ovh.com) and click the right side of the page, I immediately start getting hundreds of alerts on the desktop. These
