S_alloc or Calloc for return value
I am trying to write a C function to create a vector of integers that can be
used by the R calling function. I do not know the size of the vector in the
R calling function. (Well, actually, I have an upper limit on the size, but
that is so large that R cannot allocate it. What I'm doing in the function
is to do a sieving procedure, and the result will be small enough to fit
into my

[patch] buffer overflow in q_parser.y
Hi Dave,
The patch below corrects a buffer overflow bug in q_parser.y. Since it
is triggered by excessively long query strings, I believe that this bug
could be exploited to allow arbitrary code execution if a query string
supplied by a user is passed in directly to Ferret and not truncatated.
If I''m right, you should consider a new release asap.
I''ve fixed it to simply

tracing aio syscalls
Hi all,
Is there some documentation or some example on how to interpret the arg0
.. arg<n> for the aioread, aiowrite, aiowait syscalls? The system call
name for all three seems to be "kaio".

(HP-UX) scan: last line gets duplicated (PR#790)
The last line gets duplicated when a file is read like this:

tested.)

debug vs regular mode
Dear all,
I had a R segmentation fault, and then invoked debug mode and ran step
by step.
When I reached "terms(Y~X1*X2*...*X16)", I would then have
"segmentation" fault. However, if I just ran this under regular "R
interactive" mode, it would be fine though taking long time.
My questions are:
1. Is there a known limit of terms for a formula?
2. Why does the

ext3 +2TB fs
I've got a 3.3TB ext3 on a FC3 64-bit system, running kernel
2.6.10-1.766FC3smp. I create the partition with parted 1.6.21, and I make
the fs via:
mkfs.ext3 -m1 -b 4096 -T largefile4 /dev/sda1
Works fine. bonnie++ running on it multiple times for days on end, no
problems.
However, I do the exact same setup on a RHEL4-AS i686 system, 32-bit, and
the fs is totally hosed, get all kinds of

[PATCH] kexec-tools: Read always one vmcoreinfo file
vmcoreinfo file could exists under /sys/kernel (valid on baremetal only)
and/or under /sys/hypervisor (valid when Xen dom0 is running).
Read only one of them. It means that only one PT_NOTE will be
always created. Remove extra code for second PT_NOTE creation.

PXE stack access via com32
Hi,
I've checked the archives for my issue, and while there is relevant discussion, the problem the original poster was asking about didn't seem to have been resolved then either (~2 years ago). At any rate, basically what I'm trying to do is send (possibly receive) UDP packets via the PXE stack using the com32 API (using version 3.11 of syslinux). I have followed both the comboot

read.table problem on Linux/Alpha (seg faults caused by isspace(R_EOF)) (PR#303)
Full_Name: Naoki Takebayashi
Version: 0.65.1
OS: Linux/Alpha
Submission from: (NULL) (129.79.224.171)
When I was reading a file with read.table("junk.data"), it seg-faulted.
I found out that it seg-faulted when the last line of data file didn't
have the newline char. For example, file like this:
23 3
31 2
24 1<EOF>
Here is a fix.
