It seems there is a class specifically for this in WxWidgets, called
TextUrlEvent, which includes methods for retrieving

wxruby2-preview Gauge and wx-sugar with SplitterWindow
First of all, just wanted to say big thanks for all the great work on
wxruby2 .. I''ve been a user of 0.6 for a long time and its proved very
useful over the years. It''s great to finally have a multi-platform, gem
installable ui toolkit that doesn''t suck!
Secondly, thanks also for wx-sugar. I was drowning in sizers and started
to write my own layout library ... but

Partner node reboot issue
Dear Team, I came across one problem in Oracle RAC Database server with
OCFS2 file system.
When I manually un-plug the Ethernet cable of primary node, the secondary
node automatically restarted.

Least Absolute Deviation
Dear all,
I try to fit least absolute deviation (LAD) regression with R. I couldn't
find any command to carry out LAD. What I am doing now is using nlm() and
setting the function argument to minimize the sum of the absolute
deviation. But for some data it keeps giving out the error message: Error
in nlm(absdev, b.start) : non-finite value supplied by nlm. (there is no na
in my dataset.)

wx layout with sugar
I''m sure this will be user error on my part, but I can''t seem to get the
following to layout properly.
Basically, I want the p1 to fill the available space and p2 to be as small
as possible (with the root panel filling all the available space). With
the following code, the buttons in the p2 end up being truncated, (i.e.
the bottom line is missing).

FW: using R under windows
I am used to using R under unix. I have a problem with R
under Windows-2000:
Suppose I have a plain text file code.r full of R code
that I want to source into R. My problem is that Windows
invisibly tacks ".txt" onto the end of the filename (the name
looks like code.r but it is really code.r.txt). How to get
windows to both allow me to call it code.r (for real! Not

self.get_id
Hi!
Is it possible to somehow eliminate the use of the self.get_id''s in most
situations?
When you set up an event, you always must type sg. like
evt_tree_key_down(self.get_id) {|e|
where self.get_id can be the default or something...

patch proposal for ssh-copy-id script
Hello everybody,
I write an update version of ssh-copy-id script in order to support
sshd non running on standard port 22.
So I added another parameter to the script to allow user to specify
the daemon port.
I've also changed the way the command line parameter are retrieved in
order to have a more "robust" way of getting them using getopts.
Due to this change host name must be

Problem accessing sub-methods of functions stored in a vector
Hi folks,
I am having trouble accessing sub-functions when the main function is
stored in an array. For example, the following test code works fine:
fcns = c(abs, sqrt)
fcns[[1]](-2)
fcns[[2]](2)
However, when I try to access sub-functions declared within list() in a
function, this only works directly. When I try to access these within an
array only the first declared sub-function is run.

[PATCH 0/2] supermin: use /etc/os-release
Hi,
let's make supermin use /etc/os-release as primary source instead of
the various release files in /etc; apparently distros (e.g. openSUSE)
are starting removing them.
Thanks,
Pino Toscano (2):
Add simple handling of /etc/os-release
Use os-release to detect the distro

wxRuby 1.9.1 and id accessor consistency problem
Hi all,
wxRuby 1.9.1 introduced great Rubish style accessors (x.label as a synonym
for x.get_label).
I just found that get_id has no corresponding Rubish style id accessor.
For a CheckListBox or a StaticText (I haven''t checked for other kind of
controls), id just returns the Ruby object_id.
This is very confusing and not consistent with other accessors.

Help understanding EVERYTHING
Team,
I am trying to learn a GUI for Ruby and I picked wxRuby.
The problem is that I am kind of slow learning this and I now feel
frustrated after trying for about at least 7 hours.
I am trying to design a simple Sudoku 9x9 grid to display numbers, 1 - 9,
using buttons.
I posted a question on Ruby forum ruby-talk and a gentleman, Alex Fenton,
answered my questions.
Alex gave me what appear to be
