bug in barplot.default (graphics) (PR#11585)
There seems to be a minor bug in barplot.default when used with log scale w= here one or more values is NA: dat <- matrix(1:25, 5) dat[2,3] <- NA barplot(dat, beside =3D T) #Plots and appropriate barplot with gaps for m= issing data barplot(dat, beside =3D T, log =3D "y") #Error in if (min(height + offset) <=3D 0) stop("log scale error: at least = one 'height +

barplot can put legend in wrong place, request option to override that (PR#13265)
This in an enhancement requestion, to add the capability to pass arguments through barplot() to legend(). I've created a version that does this. # Run this code; notice that the legend # is superposed over one bar: barplot(height = cbind(x = c(465,91) / 465 * 100, y = c(840,200) / 840 * 100, z = c(37,17) / 37 * 100), beside = FALSE, width =

barplot forces xpd=TRUE (PR#1088)

R-alpha: various graphics Q.
"contour" can't return a list of contours (it would be nice) "arrows" has different options from S-PLUS (no "open" or "rel" options, no "lwd" parameter or graphics parameter pass-through; "size" in S corresponds to "length" in R). [I know we needn't follow S-PLUS syntax slavishly, but it would be nice at least to

R-alpha: `axes' argument for barplot()

barplot: border color when stacked
Dear R-users, I am using R version 2.10.1 under windows. In a barplot, I want to mark one of the bars with a special border color. For example: barplot(c(3, 7, 11), border = c(NA, "red", NA)) But how to do this when the bars are stacked? for example: barplot(matrix(1:6, ncol=3)) # border of second bar (i.e. the one with total height = 7) should be red again, I try: barplot(matrix(1:6,

R-alpha: Logarithmic scales
Here are another three problems with logarithmic scales: 1) segments() does not work with logarithmic scales. I suggest to change lines 962-973 in "plot.c": for (i = 0; i < n; i++) { if (FINITE(xt(x0[i%nx0])) && FINITE(yt(y0[i%ny0])) && FINITE(xt(x1[i%nx1])) && FINITE(yt(y1[i%ny1]))) { GP->col = INTEGER(col)[i % ncol];

Plotting question: Problem with strwidth in 2.7.1
R users, I have a problem with function strwidth in 2.7.1. I'm trying to set the plot margins in a way that horizontal column labels will fit to the graph. tmp.t is a list of data.frame objects. This code works well in 2.6.0. ...snip.. library(gplots) for (i in names(tmp.t)) { bmp(filename=paste(i, "_", Sys.Date(), ".bmp", sep=""), width=1038,

barplot: legend: two rows
dear r-helpers, i have got another question: i am using the functions par(xpd=T) legend to create a legend below the x-axis. i used the parameter horiz=T. now i would like to put the elements of the legend in two rows: e.g. if my legend has got 5 elements, i would like 3 elements in one row and the last two elements in the next row. does anyone know how to do that? thank you very much for

Align legend title
Dear R developers, I needed to align the title of legend for some of my plots. If there is interest to include this into base R, bellow are the examples and the relevent diffs. Please find attached a diff for coplot which you may want to consider for the next release. The diff is against R 1.2.2. The reasons for this patch are: 1. The boxes of coplot did not align very well with the panel graphs if applied to a factor 2. Putting the

legend in multiple plot
Dear R users, I'm making multiple plots within the same pdf page (par(mfcol = c(5,1)), and want a legend for this at the bottom of all the plots. From previous mails it has been suggested to use par(xpd=TRUE), increase the margin at the last plot, and then draw the legend. However, when I do this, the last plot gets smaller with the same amount I increase the margin with. The problem seems to

Colores en names.arg de un barplot()
Hola.

Coloring leaves, twigs and labels in plot.dendrogram()
Core developers, I couldn't find any simple way to send a vector of colors to apply to each terminal in plot.dendrogram() or plot.hclust()---I asked R-help about it a few weeks ago and didn't get any response---so I hacked that functionality into the plot.dendrgram code (see below for hacked function plus examples).... Is there any chance this functionality could be added to the

barplot2, gap.barplot
Hello, I try to handle a simple bar-plot, but it turns out to be not as simple as I thought. 1) I have created a .dat-File, e.g. test.dat: DATA DATA-SEM 2.2 0.32 6.2 1.30 12.7 1.61 48.6 3.08 4.1 0.86 4.5 0.32 1.5 1.13 1.2 1.08 The first row is the data represented by bars. The second row deals with the Standard Error of Mean. The lines correspond to time-intervals of experiments. 2) I now

Rug-like density plots on margins of figure
Hi everyone, I'm trying to plot density curves on the axes of a plot, in a similar way to the 'rug' function. I have had a look at a few approaches and libraries, including: * layout http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php? graph=78 * fancygraph http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php? graph=81 * ggplot - gave up since it needs R 2.3.0 and

Plotting NLS profiles
Hello list, I'm trying to plot nls profiles, but the plot.profile.nls function in R doesn't seem to accept any plot.default variables. Specifically, I'd like to be able to change the x-axis title and the colors to black and white. Has anyone had any luck with this? If not, is there a way to override to plotting colors, perhaps in par()? Thanks, Sam fm1 <- nls(demand ~

losing x-label when exporting to PNG

Barchart in lattice package: controlling order of bars in plot and color of a selected bar
Hi, I'm using the lattice function 'barchart' to make a series of 4 histograms. Currently, the y-axis values are graphed in order of the y-axis variable. I'd like to have the y-axis values sorted in ascending order of the x-axis values so that the longest bar horizontally is on top of the graph (in it's seciton) and the shortest bar is on the bottom. I can do this in
